I will preface this review with the knowledge that I am from Texas and used to Texas BBQ. I am fully aware I was in Iowa. Having said that, I will say that the BBQ was OK. I had the Brisket and It was tender but had absolutely no flavor. Typically I don't use BBQ sauce. The meat should speak for itself. But I definitely had to use it on this brisket. The waitress was super nice and very helpful. She helped me get the best deal for what I wanted to order. Her service alone raised this score from 3 stars to 4 stars. The place itself has a nice atmosphere.

Ordered from here through Doordash. The meat was good but was not impressed with the quantity for the price. Also some lazy people in the kitchen, there were still stems on the green beans(they also lacked any flavor).

Great food. Great prices. I had a burger and beans and it really hit the spot. I am from out of town and stopped by for a quick bite. It was definitely worth it.

Looks and tastes amazing. Food was prepared and delivered quickly (delivered through GrubHub). Extra dipping sauces to go. Excellent proportions. Very satisfied! (Only included main food items in pic) I ordered the buffalo wings, dinner for 1 with shaved turkey, jalapeño cream corn, waffle fries and corn bread.

So we came in to have a couple beers and sat at the bar. And the staff was very attentive and nice. But as we were leaving our server offered us candy because it was trick or treat night in Des Moines. She’d gone out of her way to make bags of candy in case trick or treaters came into eat. So they wouldn’t miss out. Just incredibly considerate thing to do and very thoughtful. So if you weren’t already headed there for their good food or drinks or there plethora of TVs; I’d recommend it just for a friendly interactions with their staff members.

Great service. Our food came out in no time at all. They have a very good selection of drinks. Couldnt even eat half of my food because the portions were so big (not complaining). Its a very laid back environment. And the food is to die for.

It's your boy The RIBOLOGIST!!! This place in Des Moines Iowa is soooo easy for me to LOVE. The atmosphere is one of the BEST!!! A mixture of sports bar, rib & food shack. The interior SCREAMS....."GOOD FOOD!" ALL the ads, write ups and posters of EVERYTHING food is soooo APPEALING! Now the REAL REASON for this review....... The RIBS. I will say it's just ok. Sauces are GOOD. Ribs were smoked for hours but was lacking in the DEEP FLAVA category for me. It has a light rub seasoning which REQUIRES sauce to truly enjoy every bite. My 1st visit so I give the ribs 3 stars. Definitely NOT the best cut of ribs, BUT the whole set up and experience is a 4👍🏾. It's worth trying whenever in Des Moines. Your boy The RIBOLOGIST IS OUT ✌🏾.

Cool atmosphere to be in, small enough but just right. Great service and friendly. We could not believe how huge the portions were. You have around 6 types of bbq sauces already placed on your table to chose from to use. My son and i ordered fried pickles for appetizers, 2 sweet teas and 2 entrees...had enough leftovers for 2 more plates each spent only $53.00. Will be going back!!!
