Great food, great times. The renovation was nice and my burrito bowl was the best.
We don't eat out at many places, but with Chipotle we know we are getting great food, and the service rocks, even when AHS lunch time hits, they are prepared to move the line quick!
The OG Chipotle. Where it all began! HQ now in Cali so this is kind of an empty legend at this point. Neat old sign and artwork inside but no room to sit down and eat.
Been a huge Chipotle fan for years and finally got a chance to visit the OG. The space was cozy and warm on a chilly fall evening, employees were friendly and wrapped my burrito expertly! Little small, but that's to be expected in this case. Wasn't terribly busy so we were able to relax and eat in
This is the VERY FIRST Chipotle, the famous quick-casual restaurant, the one founded by the famous Steven Ells. It's tiny, with a sign that reads "Occupation: 17 customers." The building was previously a Dolly Madison Ice Cream Shop, where I bought cones for my little son in the early 1990’s. That Dolly Madison shop is immortalized in three black-and-white photos on the wall here. They’re fashioned in the style of Chipotle’s typical self-referencing b/w photos; I wonder how many customers actually note the difference.
Chipotle has some detractors. All the great ones do! The Beatles had detractors. Charlie Chaplin had detractors. But Chipotle is the best of its kind, nonetheless. It’s the Elvis of fast-casual eateries. It's the "king of the hill, the top of the list, the head of the heap..." Yep, it's the king.
My favorite is their hot red salsa. According to the company's website, the ingredients are tomatillo, chile de arbol, salt, cumin, garlic, black pepper, and a splash of Tabasco. But the great mystery is this: how are these simple ingredients combined into a delicious tangy mixture?
I do have a complaint. The chips are sometimes stale by afternoon. Another complaint: they don’t offer breakfast burritos! Maybe someday... and if they do, they should start here, where it all began.
This will always be the one. This is the chipotle where it all started. It had been renovated and changed from its original layout, but it's still the original. Been eating here since year one, grew up nearby, and went to South High. We used to eat here almost every day for lunch. This location or the Alameda and Logan location.
We were excited to go to the original Chipotle. The sign is cool. Disappointed the inside is very small with very limited seating. Took our food down the street to a picnic table. Service was average. Food was good...fresh, warm, guac was green not brown.
I’ve heard a podcast by Steve Ells the founder of chipotle and this place has been on my bucket list since this. Must say, It was a exciting experience at the first original chipotle. Simple interior design, great service and food
Seeing the first location is a must for a big Chipotle fan! It’s so cool to see what all started in this once former ice cream shop! I hear they used to give you souvenirs and let you tour but after the recent renovations they no longer do that :( I still would recommend going! I also wish the employees were more educated on Chipotle history. The one I was talking to was suprised when I mentioned it once was a ice cream store.
Yes, bringing back big burritos! Best ORIGINAL Chipotle in dnever !
We could not resist stopping for dinner at the original Chipotle while in Denver. To see where it all started is a blessing for all Chipotle enthusiasts. The night we ate there, we decided to eat outside because the weather was gorgeous. This is definitely a must for all those who love Chipotle!
For Chipolte fans, this is the original restaurant started back in 1993. Same food as all the others. Cool place to stop in if you're in the area.
