I remember this place as ethyls house of soul, which was an institution 20 years ago. I was hesitant to come back, but I'm So glad I did! I have never tasted goat this good before. The breading was so crispy we thought for sure the meat would be dry, but it was some of the most flavorful juicy bites of meat we have ever had!
Located in Denver, Historically, the five points district, conveniently close to churches, the 16th st mall, musuems, hotels and lots more.... Aurhentic Caribbean food!!! It might be $$$ but, you get enough for $$$$, add a little culture to satisfy your appetite today, and don't forget the Kola champagne from Jamaica.😙😙😙😙
Good soul food, the pork and goat was delicious. The environment is old stile and simple. Good attention too :)
Very very good. We went here randomly and the food was excellent. I had some Caribbean food in Daytona Florida and it didn’t compare to how much I enjoyed eating here. The food was well seasoned and the portions were big. I got the jerk pork sandwich for $7 and it was huge. 5 stars
This place is probably the closest I can get to home. Their Salted plantains is to die for. Absolutely love the rice & beans too. I came here with few of my friends. They ordered chicken wings with mac & cheese & chicken stew; they both loved the food. I recommend this restaurant. I am definitely coming back to try more of their menu selection.
The food was very flavorful, and you get a really good bang for your buck! I eat alot, and this was enough for 2 meals! I had the jerk chicken with the rice and yams. Boy, those yams were so good, and really added a sweet element to offset the spicy and saltiness of the entree. Really loved the gravy for the rice. I had to ask more more! Every bit was like heaven. They have a big tv for you sport fans and an a small aquarium with some interesting fish which surprised me since the outside and entrance is nit very nice. The staff was prompt as well. I Will be coming back !
Decided to grab some food from here before a show at Cervantes last night and was extremely impressed. I've visited Jamaica a few times and this is the first spot that makes me feel like I'm back there. The jerk chicken and collard greens were on point and I'm sure everything else is just as delicious. I highly recommend this spot and I will coming back every week from now on. You will not be disappointed.
I had the vegetarian plate which is a collection of any 5 sides. Everything was good, especially the collard greens and fried okra. It came with a side of spicy coleslaw for some heat. The restaurant setting is relaxed and no frills. I recommend trying it out for their southern soul food or Haitian fare.
This is one of those places you hope to hear about from a friend. A small place with astonishing food. The fried goat and jerk chicken were incredible. The coleslaw was spicy in a perfect way giving a punch of heat that faded to aa subtle background warmth that only added to the taste and delivery of everything else on the plate. Easily one of my favorite places in Denver. This is home cooking at its absolute best. Do not hesitate on this place.
We stopped in tonight while we were waiting for a Cas Haley show across the street. Lemme just say. This food is awesome!! We love pretty far away, but I would drive down just for this place. So good. Very relaxed atmosphere and very low key. My husband and I both stuffed ourself silly and wished we could eat more. Had jerk chicken and mac n cheese. Awesome sauce. Whoa. Just too good.
