La Chupaflor

We came here after a concert at the Levitt Pavillion since they are open until 10p and I love trying new ice cream places. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly and were helped immediately after they were done helping other customers. They have so many yummy flavors and it took 5 tastings to finally decide which flavors to order. Also, they use actual silverware to give out tasters instead of plastic spoons. Their prices are really reasonable: Kids scoop $2.75, single $3.75, waffle cone is a $1 upgrade. I can't remember the other prices. One of my sons ordered bananatella in a strawberry waffle cone, my other son ordered avocado in a strawberry waffle cone, my boyfriend ordered a kids scoop in a sugar cone, and I ordered a kids scoop of half queso and half tres leches in a cake cone. When they serve you a cone, they stuff ice cream into the cone and then place the scoop of ice cream on top. Bonus! I know that queso sounds weird but it's one of those oddly good flavors. I think it is made with queso fresco as it had cheese pieces in it. Not only do they have wonderful ice cream flavors, are open later, have amazing customer service, they also pay attention to details. Also, their scoops are huge. The kids scoop is the size of a regular scoop at your typical ice cream places.

Such a lovely ice cream shop! We went in after taco Tuesday next door and the young man working was so friendly! He let us try several different samples (without making us feel guilty) and recommended some of his favorite flavors and was eager to explain the unique ones to us. The ice cream was wonderful! So many unique flavors not to be found in any other shop in Denver (such as purple corn!). I got the Oreo and avocado split in a taco cone (only 2 dollars on Tuesday!)-both were so creamy and absolutely delicious. My friend didn't realize you could get a taco cone, and they let her switch to one, even after filling up her initial cone. They then proceeded to give to us free of charge as to not waste it! Everyone who works here is delightful and their ice cream is delicious-a must try!
