Carino's Italian-denton

Prices are reasonable but the quality of food seems to be declining nothing tastes fresh or made from scratch. Three of us ordered from the dinner menu and it took less than 7 minutes for us to receive the entrees we were not even halfway through with our salad which tells me it's not cooked to order it's pre made & warmed up. It's a restaurant that seems forgotten, most tables were empty no background music no bartender at the bar no manager walking around and scant staff that only appeared briefly from the back, their menu looks as if it's been scaled-down and I have no idea why but before you walk into the restroom area which is next to the side of the bar and by the carry out door, it smells as if you just walked into a livestock barn at the state fair ...I kid you not. would not recommend this place unless you're looking for quantity and not quality they get a zero for atmosphere but cheaper than the other more popular Italian restaurant chain in the area.

We sat at the bar when we came in. It was a slow Friday night, Clancy was the bartender that night. I ordered the chop House salad with the sirloin steak and spaghetti and tomato sauce side.. the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, the pasta was Al dente and the sauce was really much better than I expected. Clancy was fun and fairly attentive to our needs considering she was busy being the only person there on that side.

Really enjoyed Johnny Carino's today for an after-hours midday meal. My son ordered the kid's Pepperoni - Pepperoni pizza and he loved it. My wife had the Spicy Shrimp & Scallops and All-You-Can-Eat Caesar Salad and said there were plenty of shrimp and scallops with the right amount of heat!! She did mention there may need to be a reduction in the amount of sun-dried tomatoes used in her next one, but all in all a good meal. I took advantage of the Bowtie Chicken (New Item) without bacon and I absolutely loved what I received. D.J. offered great attentive service and that made it worth the visit!!! Will definitely be back!! Bar Daily Deals are worth another visit.

I don't normally eat at Italian restaurants as there is a lack of excellent ones in Denton. However, while Johnny Carino's wasn't an excellent experience, it wasn't a bad one either. When I arrived there and sat down I noticed an odd smell in the place. I assume it could have been just an off day, but it's not the best first impression in a place. I just hope that it's something that can be easily fixed. I sat down and ordered the Spicy Chicken and Shrimp, and a House Salad. The service was quick and excellent, and the wait time on food was fair. I enjoyed the complimentary bread and the salad was quite nice. The Chicken and Shrimp dish was also great, but my only problem was that it was a little bland in some areas. Overall, I thought the meal was an okay one. I would recommend Johnny Carino's if your looking for at least something good to eat. It's not a 9/10 Italian eatery, but it's not a bad or mediocre establishment either.
