Steak 'n Shake

My wife and I have loved this place for years. Sorrowfully I have to, say this was the worst visit i have had here. Only saw one other customer, but had a long wait. Once I got my food I drove away. Good point fries were hot. Then Frisco burger was warm and very oily. It had some flavorless red fluid pooring out all over, not ketchup not French, just unsure. Then what used to be my favorite garlic burger. Good point lots of garlic flavor, but so oily, not part of the garlic seasoning. It had a puddle in the wrapper. Used to be such a great restaurant.

Very nice place to eat. Waitresses are nice and quick. Clean booths and bathrooms, also a secret menu item: 7 for 7. 7 patties, with cheese. Can add anything that comes on a burger (lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc.)for no additional charge for a whopping $9! I got mine with no pickle and tomato and an egg cracked on top of it ($.79 charge). And could barely finish it. The shakes are made quickly and neat without sticky or a mess on the cup. I always tip at least 10$, which is usually half my order price because the waitress here busts her butt remembering our drinks and shakes, also having our drinks and shakes done quickly.

Customers that got there 10 after we did got to order and get there food first. We put order in and waiter did not bring us accurate order. I also asked for coffee with creamer, he brought creamer & coffee but gave me nothing to stir it with. Had to keep calling him over to our table . I asked for the Jalapeno burger which comes with pepper Jack cheese, chipotle mayonaise salsa & jalapenos....it had chipotle mayonaise and jslspeno but NO salsa.

The moment I realized my meal was going to be bad was when I saw the payment keypad and it looked like it was never cleaned makes you wonder what is like inside. WELL NOW TO MY ORDER. fries were cold and tasted like they were from the day before, also the hamburger was cold and the cheese was not even melted as it was just pulled out of the fridge. I JUST HOPE I DON'T GET FOOD POISONING WITH THE BITE I TOOK ON THE SANDWICH AND FRIES.

Normal great quality for Steak and Shake food. Servers are kind and friendly. Edit: Got food on another order, waited 15 minutes for fries that were not fresh and half empty. And no, they didn't spill out into the bag. Paid for 2 larges so we could split with the family and we got regular size amounts of fries. Wasn't worth driving back to get it fixed.
