When in Chicago. You can't miss Portillo's ! Their hod dogs and hamburgers are iconic! I delighted in my Chicago hot dog while my granddaughters devoured their hamburgers 🍔🍟 Good salads too!

My go to is the Portillo’s chopped salad. You can’t go wrong. It’s light and delicious. If your in a heavier mood though, they have great hot dogs, burgers, polish and more.
When in the heavy mood, the chocolate cake shake is something else.

Love the Italian beef sandwiches. Wish there was something which could be easily done to raise the atmosphere above the level of German beer halls during times other than Oktoberfest.

Portillo's was a stop I had to take, being that I haven't had a taste of Chicago in some time. I had the maxwell Street polish, which was excellent, and a chopped salad, which was very good. The food came out quick and the service was good .

I grew up with Portillos as a staple living in Chicago. From not tasting it for some time, it appears they changed their hot dogs. The Italian beef was not nearly packed with beef the way it used to be! And of course… the prices. 🫣 $5.50 for a chili dog. It’s still a “must go” but seems like its slipped a bit.

I picked up a catering order and Dawn went out of her way to make sure our order went smoothly. It would have been easy for her to hand the box off. However, she realized something was leaking and got me an entire new box. She repacked everything for me. Employees like her are the reason we continue to order from portillos. Thank you Dawn!!

Visiting from out-of-state and this was a great place to get a genuine Chicago dog. The dog was a mouthful but good, and the cheese fries were delicious. Service was excellent, especially from Desie!

All 5 stars. You'll feel like you've walked into the land of free-spirits...Where everyone is free to be themselves and a no judgement zone. Everyone is really friendly also...fresh food prepared to order.

Portillos never disappoints. At first when I moved to Chicago, I didn’t see what the big deal was, but now it the chocolate cake shake, authentic chicago dogs, and cheese fries have won me over. It IS a big deal.
Not to mention, the house salad is spectacular.

Had not been in a very long time and they didn't disappoint at all. Super great food 😋. Customer service was on point. Hopefully when we go to the new one in Plano Texas they keep the food and service this good.
