Excellent gourmet tacos - el pastor, shrimp, and grilled tilapia. Loved the margarita Pricey but worth it for my money.

Food is FAR greater than you would expect for Deerfield. Authentic and traditional. Waitress staff could be more attentive, like check in with the client after the food is brought. Recommended.

Very Impressed. I just moved to the North Shore from Downtown and have been looking for a good taco place. FOUND IT! The Taco's are exactly what I wanted. They are delicious, flavorful, fairly priced and truly hit the spot!. The order was fast and accurate. I also chatted with the owner, Freddy, for a bit when I was waiting and he is a true gentleman and veteran of the hospitality industry. He takes pride in his restaurant and it shows. Highly Recommend! I will be back!

We’ve visited Taco Vida so many times now, I’ve lost count. It’s located in an old outdoor plaza way in the back, by a doggy daycare. There’s plenty of free parking and an outdoor patio with overflow space if it’s too busy inside. Outdoor seating is limited to togo orders, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t order food and enjoy the tables there. They always have a new taco of the week that I love trying! I tried my first chicharron here on a taco before, and micro greens. Each taco is made fresh to order with homemade corn tortillas in house that are SOOO good!! They have the very best beer battered fish tacos (their Sea of Cortez taco) I’ve EVER had in all of Chicago and suburbs. Their salsas are made in house, too. The red salsa has some sort of roasted red pepper in it and the green is perfect. They have horchata, frescas, imported bottled Coke, margaritas and other beers! This is a great place for small parties and foodie friends. I absolutely need to update this review again at a later date with better food photos — I ate my tacos too fast to take better pics in the past. Can’t wait to go again. ❤️🌮

I've been twice, once by myself and once with the wife. Pluses are the tacos have lots of flavor and service is excellent -- fast and pleasant. On the other hand, my wife didn't like the texture of her tacos. -- thought they were "mushy" as they had a lot of cheese and sour cream. If that's your style you'll be happy. If not I recommend the chicken tinga and the pastor. Space inside is limited but there is outdoor seating which will be fine until it gets cold. Finally prices start at $5 which is a tad highish. I know costs have been going up, but there are good taco places in the northern suburbs where prices start at $3-4.

Some of the best authentic tacos Ive had anywhere, including Mexico City! Homemade tortillas, the tacos are STUFFED with delicious meat, and they have some of the best al pastor of all time and they always ensure every taco is covered in pineapple, which is perfect! Highly recommend this place!

First time here, and we will definitely go back. Tacos were delicious! We tried the Tinga de Pollo and AL Pastor tacos. We also tried some guacamole, which was some of the best I've ever had. Margaritas were delicious as well as horchata. Everything was clean inside. Our server, Freddy, was awesome!! Sat down right away and got our food promptly also. Very fresh and tasty ingredients.

Amazing taqueria that portions its variations of tacos well for their price. I was initially hesitant coming here because I'm not familiar with $5 tacos. There was also a pretty spicy review somewhere in the list that shirked me from trying it. (Such is life, I suppose) The taqueria seems much larger from the outside than in. There's probably enough seating on the inside for maybe 10-15 persons, but their menu is tacos. Service was quick, and it really felt like there was never a dull moment from ordering to receiving and eating the food. Tacos are portioned very well. Despite ordering three here, there's always that temptation of smashing that fourth one in. Their pork al pastor didn't quite hit the spot, but their tinga de pollo and beer-battered sea of Cortez with the squeeze of lime took it to the next level. Their fried pickled jalapenos are intense! I feel like I had this in the taste of Chicago several years back and haven't seen or eaten until today. Great conversation starter and has two different mayo-based flavor profiles that one of which can get you sucked into flavor town. Their horchata doesn't leave much room for improvement, but I'm curious whether there could be some additional milk fat to make it taste richer. It's a blessing and a curse that the DMV is right by there. You shouldn't miss this restaurant, but there normally are very few spots and fewer chairs as rush hour comes along.
