I went on Tuesday. Had a prime rib sandwich. DO NOT ORDER A PRIME RIB SANDWICH after Wednesday or Saturday. The waitress was nice enough to switch it out, for Walleye dinner. Which was very good.

Tasty food, but unless u r dining in(where you might be leaving a big tip), dont expect friendly service for carryout. EVERYONE's busy; EVERYONE's short-staffed- we get it. We usually only look for two things from Food Service people: be attentive, and be nice. Not that complicated.

I love the Elmhurst. It feels like time stood still and as one of the few quality neighborhood bars still around, it's worth a visit anytime.
Since they have come under new ownership the steam table is always open and the draft beers are great. They even have local breweries like Downey brewing's white stout. I love coming here with my parents and their peel-and-eat-shrimp is to die for.

The French Onion Soup was the best I think I ever had!! Had the Shrimp Po Boy, the shrimp were big and there was so many on it!! Only thing I wished was a little better was the staff wasn't really all that inviting. Not rude just not most welcoming to new people I think. But I can totally get past all that for another bowl of that soup!!!!!!!
