This place is a traditional go-to for a typical brunch experience. While nothing too surprising, my friend and I had a good time. The wait was a little long, but not unbearable. If you're in the mood for a classic brunch outing, this spot is a reliable choice for a pleasant meal.

We had the "Petey" breakfast. We had the banana pancakes. Wow! Amazingly good! Wife knows and loves good pancakes, she says they were the best she's had. Perfectly cooked and good size. Great food and great location across from the harbor. Great experience.

Traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs, home-fries, turkey sausage, wheat toast and OJ - $21+tip . No complaints. Great tasting all of it and hot as expected. Definitely a go-to spot for breakfast or lunches. 9/15/23 - ordered same but with well done Italian sausage. Came out slightly burned on surface but not cooked in middle which happens alot with this type of meat. Not my preference to wait again for them to send it back to cook a second time.

I had a simple breakfast of two eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns, and toast. They were short staffed and doing their best to meet the demand. It's a popular place, and so things were a little crazy and my server did her best to get us all our items. Despite that little snag, the food was excellent and the service was great considering what their servers were putting up with this morning. The hash browns were the best I've ever had; light and fluffy and about three orders of magnitude better than what I have come to expect. I'd return here for breakfast or lunch when I'm in the area.

Guys, if you are ever in the Dana Point area, Rj's Cafe is a must breakfast spot to enjoy a wonderful morning. I had the taco omelet, and wow, it was fantastic. Just look at my pictures it tells a thousand words..P.S. you need to have their delicious cinnamon roll that is a must. That breakfast was happiness to my food soul.. like always my people, happy good eats, and God bless you all.

We (My daughter and I) had the BEST breakfast today! Nicole is an awesome server! I had the Breakfast Burrito 🌯 and it was SO good! My daughter enjoyed the BLT and loved it! This place is simply the best! Thanks RJ for opening such a great place!

Enjoyed a low key breakfast here w some friends. We each got omelettes and split the cinnamon roll… holy cow that thing was so ooey gooey! The service was great, portions were large and there were pups everywhere. It definitely is casual and family friendly.

The CINNAMON roll French toast will blow your mind!! The Starling outdoor/indoor restaurant is located close to the water but you don’t see the water. You get the fresh breeze off the ocean as you eat brunch and it is so magical. The service is outstanding and the food is even better! We got the cinnamon roll French toast in the combo which I highly recommend, the feta and avocado scramble, The chicken fried steak, and a classic omelette with bacon and ham and cheese but we turned it into a scramble and added avocado. We also got the Apple stuffed French toast and it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen! It tasted even better! Everything was so off the charts! We were filled to the brim with such amazing food and we will definitely be returning!
