The best in the world my family n I visited over the weekend n found this place while looking for a donut shop. Went there for lunch n sure glad we did the best bbq, potato salad n oh my goodness the peach cobbler was awesome.!!! We were so satisfied will definitely go back there if we visit Dallas again n will recommend SJ to anyone.!! Thank you n may God bless Smokey John' s BBQ!!!!!!
It was the best food I've tried so far. What made it even better was this place feeds the soul with the word of God! It was exactly what my husband and I needed. Definitely going to make this a regular for us. The people were outstanding and I can't say enough about this place.
I wish the Application would allow my to add 5 more Stars. Trust me, it was that good. The food was savory, seasoned to perfection, and the icing on the cake was I received service with a smile. If I wore hats, I would tip my hat to Smokey John's BBQ. I think my favorite was the brisket and the ribs. Well, I changed my mind. I enjoyed the brisket, ribs, and the sausage:)
I hope I don't get sued for using a line from a movie, however it was so good it makes you want to slap your moma:)

Smokey John's has great BBQ for a good price. The vegetables are so awesome! I had the fried catfish basket for the first time and it didn't disappoint. The staff is very friendly. I would recommend anyone looking for good BBQ to try Smokey John's.
Not too far from the airport. Good brisket but not the best, probably because I, inexplicably, opted for the lean cut, instead of the other option, but it greatly improved when the BBQ sauce was added. Brisket can be sliced or chopped as it is cut right there in front of you. Friday's special is turkey and gravy and I definitely will give that a try if I ever get back. One of our party ordered the fried catfish and I think she should have been advised that it would take a very long time for her entree to be ready. I don't think she was as she joked that they had to go catch it first. You might want to ask about the arrival time before ordering fried catfish.
The food was great, brisket had a nice smoke ring and pulled apart nicely on the plate. The chicken was also AMAZING. The collard greens were not so great but the meat made up for it. Ordered through their website, picked up the order. Would definitely recommend
Although I do not like that they tossed the gravy 2-hrs before closing time, they have phenomenal customer service & pretty decent BBQ!! This is somewhere I'd revisit. It's extremely hard to find decent BBQ nowadays. #BlackOwned 👑 🖤
I didn't have any barbecue on my visit. I ordered the Friday lunch special, chicken & dressing + 2 sides for $11.99. The chicken was super moist, and the giblet gravy is worth going back for. The sides were decent. The service was friendly.
Great place, found it with google, food was quite good, I had the ribs which were great, and the brisket which was awesome. The sides I had were the beans and cole slaw. I was not a big fan of the bbq sauce but that would be the only knock I could come up with.
Tasty barbecue and an extra large baked potato! Everyone was really friendly.. even when we accidentally left about 10 minutes after close due to jet lag and not paying attention! Thanks again!😁
First time coming here had a great experience. Got the lunch special the blackened beef tips in gravy over rice. Came with 2 sides and some corn bread. The mac n cheese was excellent and the yams were also excellent. This is a great soul food place. Their main focus is BBQ which I must admit smells amazing. If you come by the donut ship in the morning ING you can smell them starting up the smoker in the early morning it's a wonderful smell of mesquite wood. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere feels homely. I'll come back hopefully with friends or coworkers.
Got off the plane & was looking for a good BBQ place & I didn't have to look any further! Everything was delish down to the Arnold Palmer. The brisket was tender, juicy & flavorful! We got hot links to go because they were just that good. Will be back before my vacay is over.
