Rooster's Cafe

We took my aunt here for her birthday, and it was a less than exceptional experience. First off, when we were seated, we were not given napkins or utensils. Then we were asked for our order, the waitress was polite. We waited, and waited for a very long time for our order. Two separate tables that had gotten there after us were given their food before us. We assumed it was because something in our order needed extra cooking time, so we waited some more. When our food got to us, everything was lukewarm at best, and the Coop Corn was so cold it wouldn’t melt the Country Crock provided. We still had to ask twice to get napkins and then silverware, and never got a basket of condiments like all of the other tables had. My aunt had talked up this restaurant, so needless to say it was severely disappointing. I know COVID has affected everyone, so I understand slow wait time, but when I saw several people going on smoke breaks, and talking amongst each other it doesn’t seem like a staffing issue, but a management of the staff issue. I hate leaving bad reviews for businesses, but this was a rough experience.

We were in Dahlonega for a long weekend and went to Rooster's for lunch. We had wings with a basket of fries with cheese. We really enjoyed our meal. The wings were a good size and cooked well. The fries were thin cut and covered with gooey cheese. Really good. The atmosphere was that of a local home town bar which we really enjoyed. It was obvious from the conversations that this place has a lot of regulars that eat there which we also enjoy. Good selection of beer and a full bar. We will definitely go back next time we are in Dahlonega

Amazing local restaurant bar. Has an awesome selection of food. The atmosphere on the inside is just art. Genuine cozy feeling when you sit down and you're able to relax. The music is not too loud. It's loud enough where you can hear it but still have a conversation. Btw The sweet tea was really good. Definitely coming back whenever I'm up this way.

It was OK. We got there at 8:00 p.m. and the hostess looked at us like we were aliens. She never greeted us and after a minute or two we finally asked if we could have a table to sit at.... it took her a couple of second to comprehend what was asked then another couple of seconds to answer. And then she looks around for a place for us FINALLY we sat at a bar top table. So while we are looking over the menu, casually mind you because it's only 8:00 p.m. and talking business a young gentleman comes up to the table "what are yall eating" the response was can we get drinks first. Then "well we are getting ready to close so I have to get your food order in quickly and then I can get your drinks" then it's "we close early cause tonight is change the grease and clean the kitchen night" ok whatever. This place is closed on Tuesdays it's Monday night. Wouldn't you clean on Tuesday the whole restaurant? Then drinks came and the friend and my husband order water and a beer I ordered coke. The coke was horrible so I send it back the same glass and same coke was brought back I swear cause it tasted the same. The gentleman was getting annoyed by now so I ordered a sweet tea. It was a very weak sweet tea. Husband and friend ordered steaks with salad. Salad comes and both plates were sat in front of our friend. Food comes same thing both steaks were sat in front of our friend and my burger in front of me. Food was hurriedly cooked. Hamburger was dry I almost choked even after adding condiments it was still dry and the cheese wasn't even melted. We have eaten here before and it's was good but after tonight I seriously doubt we go back. Wasn't worth 65.00! And there was a sign on the front stating patio was closed because short staffed. Nothing about closing early to clean the kitchen.

My girlfriend went in an got no service I had to go in an wait for 10 minutes all the staff in there an only one person behind the bar could take a order I kept being told just a minute I'll be with you in just a minute one person shouldn't be doing all the work. A girl dropped some ones food coming out an all she wanted to do was laugh an tell the kitchen staff which all they did was laugh as well only one person took it serious an cleaned it up won't be back in the future
