Picnic Cafe and Dessertery is a delightful little shop located in the town square. The sandwiches, quiche and pastries are delicious. The coffee is well made and is not bitter at all.
My husband loved his breakfast sandwich and my quiche was phenomenal.
The restaurant atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The staff is very friendly, helpful and outgoing.

Was In town for a baseball tournament and found some reviews saying that this place had gluten-free cookies. So I stopped by and got one and I really enjoyed it a lot. Would definitely stop again next time we’re in Dahlonega

Food and coffee is very yummy ! They even offer almond milk as an option for the coffee!!
Staff is extremely nice and caring ! I came in by myself for breakfast and an older gentleman often checked on me to make sure I was still doing okay. This place is awesome will definitely be back !!

This is a nice little café. We went here for breakfast. 4 stars because they didn't have toast or biscuits available, and the eggs aren't made-to-order.
Otherwise, everything we had was tasty. And we had a good waitress. The young man at the cash register was also very kind.

I was originally skeptical of this place, but my wife needs to have gluten-free choices, and Picnic Cafe & Dessertery was the only spot on the square that was open early and had gluten-free choices.
I really wanted the quiche, but they had sold out quickly that morning, so I settled for the sausage, egg and cheese croissant. My wife had the bacon, egg and cheese on GF bread.
The service was great and the food came out pretty quickly. It was also delicious.
I would have no problems returning on our next visit to Dahlonega.

LOVE the picnic cafe. It’s the first place I’d recommend to anyone visiting Dahlonega. It’s the most affordable and yummiest restaurant downtown. Aside from that, it has the coziest, most laid back environment and is the #1 place to get a real “home cooked” meal. This is especially nice for college students to have (which is walking distance from campus). Me and my boyfriend eat at the Picnic Cafe weekly. My go to meal is the GA peach chicken salad on cracked wheat and a cup of Brunswick stew. Nothing compares! This is truly the only restaurant in the square that I will go to anymore - the staff is the friendliest and everyone can feel welcome here (kids included which is a plus in Dahlonega)! Everyone is short staffed today and the restaurant industry in particular is struggling. The owner seems like a very friendly boss to his employees and makes time to check on his customers. The fantastic menu and desserts are simply a plus.
