Old school spot, delicious food. Nice service. They have Mexican and puerto rican food. Either way you go, the food is delicious.

I ordered the Mofongo Relleno for the first time and it was very delicious and flavorful. I will definitely be going back to try other dishes.

Food was great tasting. The arroz con gandules was a bit dry/older than the white rice w/beans. Pernil is done a bit different. Would suggest the beef stew. Do note, they close early for dinner time .

When I'm craving Spanish Caribbean food, I like coming here with my dad. He always gets whatever is Mexican cuisine and I always go for the PR cuisine lol. I had the chicken fricassee with riced mixed with pigeon peas (arroz con gandules), which is reminiscent of Filipino apritada without the carrots. In fact, Spanish Caribbean food is very similar to Filipino cuisine because they share the Spanish sazon, as well as the islander vibe of root veggies, bananas, and rice. I enjoyed my meal, as well as the appetizer sampler I went home with. It satisfied my Dominican bff's homesickness for their native food, at least a little bit. Oh and as much as I heard negative things about bacalao, we got the bacalaitos and it was not at all fishy tasting. I will continue to come back here as long as Senor Big Ed continues to serve up the yum yum maduros and tostones!

Puerto Rican eating places often come and go in the LA area. And, there has always been very few of them, totally unlike ie back in “Puerto Rican New York”. Señor Big Ed is one establishment that has been here for years. Outstanding Puerto Rican dishes (as well as Mexican dishes). Great service and a clean restaurant. Good, reasonable prices. Also, a display of Puerto Rican stickers and flags, etc for sale. Highly recommended, wepa!

Where are my boricuas at? I finally found a good Puerto Rican joint here in So Cal. This time I was accompanied by my good friend @jessmcardona who knows Puerto Rican food. @srbiged is serving up classic dishes such as carne guisada, the meat is juicy and succulent. The bistec encebollado is a must as well. Make sure to try the mofongo with pork, it is way better than the one Islas Cuban Latin Kitchen serves. The empanadas that we tasted from the appetizer sampler were on point as well. We were both impressed with the food and hope to come back soon. Check them out and make sure to tell them I sent you

I heard about this place from my brother law, who happens to be a chef. He told me that he was very pleased and that I should try it. Well, finally tried it today and tried two dishes: Morongo with pork platter and the Bistec enzabollado. Both were very good. I specially enjoyed the habichuelas and white rice. Nothing compares to mom's Puerto Rican home cooking but I am sure happy to have Señor Ed here out west. Boricuas!!!!!!

Have been going here for years!!! The food is always great and I love the people that work there. Good Puerto Rican and great Mexican food. The food is so good I can't say it enough and they done pour sauce all over it so all the flavor comes throughout 😋
