Blackfish

Have not been here in years. Finally made it back. Had a wonderful time!!! Food was fantastic, service was superb, and despite it being a small restaurant the ambiance was very good! This is a BYO which is always nice. Parking was a little rough. My favorites were the meyer lemon oyster, the foie gras terrine with sour cherry and fig, and the crab raviolis. Highly recommend this restaurant. I can remember when Philadelphia Magazine called it one of the best restaurants in Philly, even though it is in Conshohocken!!

If you want an intimate setting while eating world class fare Blackfish is absolutely where you want to eat. The staff are some comfortable with each other and the complex integrity of the food that it feels like you have been invited to eat with food royalty. I have eaten food in restaurants all over the metropolitan area and this is by FAR one of the best tasting menus I have encountered. The food was so good that I don't have one picture of our food. Please take a moment and look at my profile. I have hundreds of photos of places, people, and food....but not one of the Blackfish or any of the food because I was so engrossed in the experience that I never thought to touch my phone.

Appetizer was good and main dishes were excellent. The creme brulee came out burned on top so that part was inedible but the custard underneath was good. Really uncomfortable seating arrangements; basically we were sitting in a hallway. We were rushed from app (which arrived even before bread) to entree to dessert in less than 30 minutes. For those reasons -burned dessert, being uncomfortable, and being rushed- we will not return to dine in.

I ordered the take-out menu for Mother's Day. For delays that had nothing to do with the food, I ended up reheating everything much longer than recommended. No matter - everything tasted DELICIOUS!!! We have had several takeouts from Blackfish BYOB and the meals have always been superb. I highly recommend this restaurant.
