El Tapatio Restaurant

Stopped in on a road trip for 'authentic Mexican food' and found ourselves disappointed in every aspect. No one to greet us or tell us to seat ourselves; extra ordinarily long period before ANYBODY came into the dining area or greeted us or got us anything. The food was bland & disappointing. They had lost their liquor license, so no margarita, and the service was deplorable. The two employees that we saw were pleasant enough, but inept. Would not recommend.

Had an order of the lunch special burrito (~$6): beans, rice, & cheese (if desired), wrapped in a tortilla. Food was delicious, staff was sweet as can be (and gracious in answering some lingering questions about a liquor license being restored), and the ambiance was captivating (with televisions showing a football match).

Don't order the vegetarian burrito unless you like just rice and cheese maybe tortilla. So much jiggly grizzle bits in the asada. And I got the shrimp burrito with 3.5 shrimp. (Update: I dug out two other shrimp from the remnants of the burrito) And then they said there was no chicken, and then there was a piece of chicken in some ones burrito. Burritos advertised with sour cream and guac, none to be found except for the burrito that requested no guac. The big red flag was that we were the only four people in that restaurant. Oh and I don't know what happened but their liquor license is suspended. Two stars for the delicious salsa and chips. And one for the really nice lady who brought us "food".

Customer service is absolutely terrible, hardly anyone working, very empty and yet they still screw up on your order, for instance, they double charge you, a dinner for two people on a to go order cost $66.00, for just 2 chimichanga dinners, 2 side house salads, 2 side small chips and salsa. The whole meal itself tasted very old and stale, not fresh. You call to state they over charge you, they agree, but say sorry and that they would credit us money for next time, well, there is not going to be a next time, that's the last straw! Very sad, hope they go out of business soon. Please be warned and don't dine here, bad service, bad food, and over charging, probably to try and make up money for business they are not making, it's only going to be a short time before this type of business catches up to them to be shut down for good!!!!!!!
