Great sandwich and burger place that is incognito as a convenience store. Great friendly owner/operator and delicious food. The 9 inch sandwich is more than enough. When sizing your sandwich, don't think a subway footling is the same. United's 9 inch is about the size of 2 subway foot longs. Highly recommend this place!
Best sandwiches in town! Meatball sub and the Roast Beef Melt are delish! Friendly service. Would recommend as a must try! Mr. John is always so nice. Just a tip: If you are ordering the beef melt to take home you can request for no water to be added to the Au Jus mix and just add water at home. This will prevent it from spilling in your vehicle.

Great food for the price ! Gyro is excellent ! Fries are basic crinkle cut. Salads are large. Cookies are delicious ! Whatever you order here is bound to be delicious !
Easily among one of the best gas station delis in the southeastern United States, maybe the country. In a time when a consistant menu and customer service are ideals of another time, United Deli manages to keep those concepts alive and well. Worth the drive every single time. I recommend the burger or the gyro!

Hope you're hungry!. I usually get their Gyro when I eat here. It's HUGE!... and outstanding! Once they were out of flat bread and suggested I get a Gyro salad. It was awesome, and had about 2 pounds of meat on it. Seriously, one Gyro could feed a small family.
Fantastic food. This place is great! The owner is very friendly, and the food is all well prepared. I think they bake all their own bread, which makes a huge difference in quality. Huge portions for very fair price.

A deli located inside a corner convenience store, this is a hidden gem known only to locals. Hands down, the best burger in town (we call 'em "fat burgers"). We're in there once a week like clockwork, getting our fix. They bake their own bread on site, and the sandwiches are BIG and satisfying.
Best sandwiches in Columbus by far. Love their food, haven't tried the pizza yet but that's next on my list. Nice people own this place. If you haven't tried it yet, you need to.

This place is something of a legend in the Columbus/West Point/Starkville area, and rightly so. The uninitiated might see it as just a gas station restaurant...but in actuality, it's one of the best places to get a sandwich in Mississippi.
United Deli is family run, and everyone is happy to make recommendations if you're not sure what to get. They'll also be sure to remind you to grab a piece of baklava, too, which you probably should. :)
When I visited with a friend, we got the grilled cheese and John's Special. Both were mega tasty - the highlight is the bread, which is crunchy at the edges and soft at the center. No idea if it's baked fresh, but it is GREAT bread. Everything, including the meats, tastes fresh here. The fries were a bit of a low point; they were hot and salty, but kind of unremarkable. Still, this is a deli, not a McDonald's - go get a sandwich!!
The John sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever eaten. We stopped by in the middle of the afternoon and bought a 9” to have for a picnic around 4:30. It was sliced into 3 sections, and we were only able to eat 2 portions. My husband finished the rest as a nighttime snack. The only way it would have been better was eating it fresh from the store.

I am not a huge sandwich girl, but my husband works in Columbus and brought me home his leftovers to Alabama one day and this is the MOST amazing sandwich I have ever had in my life! Such a treat when he brings me home his leftovers (which, are an entire half of a sandwich- that for me, becomes leftovers as well. The portions are insane! I asked him the price and expected this to be a crazy $13 sandwich. Not the case, but the portion is worth every bit of that). I did go to Columbus and try to find it myself today, and sadly- the gas station across the rd from it said they had never heard of a great sandwich place (haters!) so I didn’t even give the deli a shot. Came home to Google it and I will for sure be going to the correct gas station next time! Five stars!
