Review Tre Bicchieri Italian Restaurant - Columbus

Abhijit Namjoshi
Decent place overall. A bit overpriced for the amount of food offered. The food quality and taste was good. But limited options compared to what you would usually find in Italian restaurants. The service was slow a few times. Plenty of scope to get better especially given the good food quality.

Summary of our Friday (11/30) evening dinner experience: 1. Arrived at 8pm, got a table and food orders were taken. 2. While we were waiting for food to arrive, our waters were not refilled. Didn't get bread even with the appetizer. Servers pretty much ignored our presence. 3. An undercooked, cold appetizer (walnut encrusted goat cheese - photo attached) was served after 35 minutes. The dish looks good ONLY in the photo. 4. It took us another 10 minutes of just sitting with our uneaten plates to get the server's attention about the horrible appetizer. The dish was removed from our check. 5. Entree (pasta) was bought in at 8.55 pm but we were ready to just walk out at this point. The entree was average too (common it's an Italian place - you can at least get this right). But had to eat it as we've had been starving for almost an hour. 6. The hotel manager finally walked up to us and asked about the situation. The reason given was that the kitchen was backed up on the busy night and he himself had to help out in there but we did not accept this reason as he was standing right next to our table chatting with a few other guests as we were starring down on our disastrous dinner. He tried to offer us free take out but I was mad at this point- just wanted to finish up & leave. 7. So the entree too was removed as a compensation for our wait time. Also, prices of the dishes are not all justified for their quality and service the place offers. We've been regulars here but yesterday's experience has been a complete let down.

I tried a duck steak 2 years ago. It was so amazing. This time I tried a bolognese pasta, but it was not tasty for me. I'm from East Asia and traveling here, so my preference can be different from natives.

Lasagna was real deal. Wine list is lengthy and complete. Beer list full of craft and local choices. Great experience!! *** Canollis this were the worst I have ever tasted tho!! ***

Food is great and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Had a long dinner and the staff was very accommodating.

Food was incredible! They give you bread to start out - they have olive oil at the table but I wish they gave us Parmesan cheese as well. Service was a bit slow, our server probably came to our table only 3 or 4 times, while runners or the hostess came more often to check on us. I still gave it 5 stars because the restaurant was busy, so our server had a lot to do, and the food was fantastic!! For 2 people we paid over $100, so definitely keep that in mind when looking for a place to eat!

Took a few minutes for the server to make it to us. She appeared to be overwhelmed most of the night but still quite pleasant. The app we ordered came out cold and the remake was not a whole lot warmer. (Cold middles of the meatballs) The tomato bisque was great.. star of the meal. The chicken parm was pretty decent as was my dates meal. I wasn’t much a fan of the sauce, though, so didn’t touch the pasta. My date will eat anything so we took that to go. Drink selection was good. But doubt we will be back.

The staff was very welcoming. The wine selection was good along with bruschetta we ordered. However we didn’t like the salmon and the chicken linguine main course we ordered. The crispy skin was no more crispy cause it was kept over couscous which was more of soupy consistency instead of side dish salad which was mentioned on menu.

What a great meal and service we had last night! So good we made a carry out order for our son. We spontaneously ate here as we were passing through the area and we were hungry. We were the first seated as they opened and they soon filled up, with regular seating, bar seating, and outdoor seating, this small restaurant was able to accommodate all.
Excellent attentive service and table bussing.
The food was so flavorful. Salads with fresh fruit, nice dressings; delicious chicken florentine soup; and scrumptious pastas. We each had generous servings and brought home leftovers.
But that was also to save room for dessert: tiramisu and Italian cream cake. Mmm mm good. With perfect espresso. We will be back.

Consistently good food and service. I prefer to go soon after they open in the evening so I beat the rush. It can get crowded and noisy. I've always enjoyed every meal I've ever had at Tre Bicchieri. Much better than "chain" Italian.

Nice place, worth checking out. Its a bit loud, probably because it's small and full. Its full because its good. Service was sharp and snappy, food well prepared and nothiny negative to say about this place.

Perfection !!!. I finally found an excellent Italian restaurant in Indiana that is on par with some of Chicago's best.
This quaint jewel in Columbus was a great dining experience. We were greeted warmly upon entry.
The young female server, Lora, made us feel like we were invited to her home. She explained the menu
and made recommendations for our desires. My friends had the wonderful beef and Italian sausage lasagna, I
tried the lovely corn soup, Caesar salad and Baked Sausage Penne. The servings were more than adequate
in size and done to perfection. A whole list of home baked desserts are available. I had the coconut biscotti
and delicious french press coffee. A five star award for service, food and atmosphere.

Skip it!. If an Italian restaurant cannot properly drain pasta and gives you a watery plate with soggy meat on top.........why bother. if they know you, service is OK.......otherwise........carry a flashing light to get attention.

Used to be good. Not anymore. A year ago I would easily have given this restaurant a 5 star review. Lately the food has gone downhill considerably.

Tonight we had the ravioli which was so watery I could have poured a half cup of water off the plate. The other meal was the prime rib. It was AWFUL! We sent the first one back because it was so tough you couldn't get a fork into it. The second one they brought was just as bad. We sent it away as we'll and asked for the check. Unbelievably they didn't even comp the prime rib. We just paid and left in disgust.

We won't be going back anytime soon and I'd suggest you don't go either.

Quite good. Cozy environment and good service. The bread and olive oil, promptly served, was a good start. Both were excellent. The caesar salad was underwhelming, with stale croutons and bland dressing. The main course, pasta shells stuffed with chicken, ricotta, spinach and herbs, and topped with a cream sauce, was delicious.

One to repeat. Relaxing, friendly atmosphere. The Midwest has so many chain restaurants and it is fun to find gems like this one. My lunch was the Tuscany creamed sausage and a salad with butternut squash, apples and seeds. Portions are appropriate. Service was friendly. I sat in the window seat and took advance of their wireless. Price was also appropriate for the meal. Definitely will repeat.

Friendly, but very noisey. The food was fine, presentation was great, and staff was friendly. The restaurant was so noisy that we could barely hear each other talk. The noise certainly was distracting. We left before we had dessert.

Great Italian. My wife and I dined here this evening and had a great experience. Great food and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Ran out of food, poor service with an attitude, dirty plates. Would not return

Forgettable.... In my opinion, the food was okay, but very forgettable. For the price I paid, I was hoping for something better. Very disappointing.

Great Fine Dinning. A Columbus fine dining gem. When I went I got the Smoked Salmon, and the other person in my party got the Lamb. Everything was cooked to perfection. Staff was perfect and the atmosphere was great. They always have a great special menu everyday. A nice place to go out for a date or with friends.

Excellent choice. My wife and I had an excellent dinner at Tre Bicchieri tonight after driving more than 400 miles from North Carolina en route to Iowa. We decided on Tre Bicchieri after surfing the net for restaurants in Columbus.
The choice was one of the best we have made in years as the food was well prepared, tasty, and served with smiles and precision. The cheese sauces, chicken breasts, salads, wine, and coffee were top notch. Serving sizes were just right and prices were much less than we have paid for food of lesser quality at more prestigious restaurants. The ambience is great and quite compatible with the architectural excellence of Columbus.

Becoming the city's best restaurant. When it opened, Tre Bicchieri had a rather generic menu with small portions and service that was lacking. However, it has vastly improved and become downtown's hot spot for lunch and dinner. Portions are larger, and the service is the best of downtown. I highly recommend their salads including the house salad with their peppercorn dressing and their caprese salad. The soups are very tasty, and their house made bread is always warm and fresh. Their summer dinner menu is light and creative, and I have enjoyed their salmon and chicken entrees and their pesto linguine. However, Italian classics like spaghetti and meatballs and lasagna also do not disappoint. If you have room, they do have some notable desserts particularly their tiramisu and Dag's ice creams. If it wasn't for Tre Bicchieri, the downtown restaurant scene would be rather dismal.
