Golden Donuts

Ordered a mixed filled dozen on DoorDash at 9am and was given this. All cold, all at least a day old, all stale, no filled donuts, none of what we ordered. For $20. They’ve had nothing but problems since reopening after closing for the pandemic and there is just no excuse for this. 2 stars only because I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and these used to be the best donuts In Columbus.

Absolutely my favorite donut place. Their regular glaze (especially when hot!) are simply the best. The consistency and taste are better than any other glaze donut I’ve ever had. Whatever the secret is to their recipe, it’s fantastic. I also LOVE their cinnamon twists. Seriously good. They’ve added more variety recently under new ownership and that has been amazing. I especially love the new salted caramel crunch. I bought a dozen assorted for my co-workers and the new Maple Bacon didn’t last long enough for me to try one but obviously they were good because my co-workers ate them up before I even got mine. They also do cool theme stuff periodically for college game days, holidays, etc that are fun for the kids (can you say frosting!?) and great for gatherings/parties. If you need donuts around Columbus, don’t go anywhere else.

So disappointed! They really used to be the best. Since they reopened, today was my second time. The first time the donuts just didn't taste as good as I remembered them to taste. Decided today to give it another go. First, I was disappointed that I didn't get the one free donut, when you purchase the dozen glazed. So I open the box up just to eat one before I get home. They were not done! The inside was still dough like and they were really chewy. I only live a few minutes away and once I got home I got another, and it was doughy too. Sad! That was their second chance, and I will not be back.

Reading some of the negative comments makes me wonder did they try to speak to management before posting a negative comment? I believe they would try to make it right. I have spoken with many folks saying how happy they are that they have reopened and how much they love the donuts. The comments I hear is they are the best in town and I have to agree. They are delicious. Go get you some donuts. 😊🍩🍩🍩🍩

UPDATE...The past 3 times I have been to Golden they were out of every single donut I asked for. It's just been a disappointment the last 3 visits. It may be time to give them a rest for a while. The employees are awesome and the donuts are the best. I ask for an off menu donut and they made it no problem. I'm giving 4 stars only because the parking lot can be congested at times but the employees try their best to keep the traffic flowing.
