Ichiban Bakery

I’m absolutely heart broken that it says that this place is permanently closed. Their food was amazing and I had a birthday cake for my birthday one year and was hoping I could again because of how amazing it was. I still have a crystal vase I got from there as well. And i can’t say enough on how good their milk buns were or how good all the other buns and sweets were.

Ichiban Bakery is an Asian bakery located in the Kenny Centre Mall that sells assorted baked buns, cake rolls, sliced cakes (e.g., vanilla, mango, taro, matcha, mocha, chocolate, strawberry, and earl grey tea), assorted crisps (e.g., shredded pork and salty egg yolk with red bean crisp, salty egg yolk with red bean crisp, matcha mochi with red bean crisp, taro crisp, and mung bean crisp), and mini lotus nut and red bean mooncakes and pineapple pastries. We enjoyed the taro and mung bean crisps, mini lotus nut and red bean mooncakes, and pineapple pastries.

What a fantastic bakery. Highly recommend stopping in. I used to go to Belle’s more often, which is close by, but many times they were sold out of a lot of things. I tried Ichiban and now try to stop in whenever I am in the area. Recently tried the steamed buns and they are fantastic! High quality, consistent and affordable!

Small local bakery shop with some great tasting Bao / Steamed buns. We only had the spicy beef as the remainder steam buns were already sold out. Nevertheless these were tasty steamed buns with plenty of filling. We will be returning and hopefully get to have some of their pork/mushroom steam buns. NOTE: We have been passing this place up for years without knowing they sell Bao buns. Glad we finally stepped in to enjoy.
