Great food! I recommend the traditional crépe with ham, cheese, and mustard as a main and the lavender sugar crépe for dessert.

Delicious crepes and waffles. I've had the lemon and lavender, nutella and banana crepe and the chocolate and creme waffle. I loved all of them. The staff is always really friendly too.

This was my second time here. The food was just as amazing as the first, the service was friendly and helpful. The chicken and waffle was great. My husband raved about his traditional crepe and the lavender sugar and lemon curd crepe was heavenly.

The waffles are amazing! We also got a spicy turkey crepe which was pretty good. Next time I'd like to try their lavender sugar and lemon crepe.

The Best!. A regular breakfast at our house on weekends! I love Taste of Belgium waffles - there is nothing like them!

They are sweet, crunchy, and ohhhhh so tasty! They are definitely on top of my indulge list :)

No Syrup Required. If you are a fan of delicate, thin, light-as-air waffles that we often see labeled as "Belgian" in the United States, then this restaurant is probably NOT for you. At Taste of Belgium, they cater to a more adventurous eater, producing addictingly-delicious, dense, and sweet waffles they refer to as a Liege Waffles.

After opening their first location in Cincinnati a few years ago, Taste of Belgium has now taken up shop in Columbus' North Market -- utilizing a stall in the northwest corner. As far as accessibility, the story is the same as the rest of the North Market -- large parking lot right out front (remember to save your receipts to get the cheaper North Market rate) and picnic tables lining the front entrance and second floor. You order, pay, and receive your food at the counter.

Now back to those waffles. They start with an extremely thick dough heavily flavored with vanilla and sweetened with beet sugar, and then utilize a special cast-iron waffle press during the cooking process. And don't be fooled by the size -- the result is an incredibly dense and chewy waffle in which the beet sugar has formed an almost crunchy caramelized outer shell. These are sweet enough to eat straight-up without syrup or toppings (though these are obviously available).

As a side note, I was slightly dismayed on my first visit when I ordered a waffle and expected to see them pouring the batter into the waffle iron, but instead saw them grab a pre-made waffle from a bin and toss it on the iron for only a few moments just to heat it up. Worry not, however, as these tasty treats hold their consistency and texture extremely well after re-heating -- well enough even that taking a few home with you for later would be a great idea.

Along with the waffles, they also offer a series of both sweet and savory crepes, with a delicious vegetarian option, too. The crepes are certainly tasty and larger than expected, but not that much different from a standard crepe you might find elsewhere. Ultimately, they are worth a try, but the waffles are the real highlight. They also serve great coffee should you find yourself in need of a pick-me-up.

All in all, Taste of Belgium is a great addition to both the North Market and the Columbus restaurant scene overall. If you're in the area and don't have an issue with breakfast at any time of the day, swing in and pick up a waffle for yourself -- but be warned, they are addicting! Enjoy.

Must-try dish: The Waffles, of course.

Thumbs Up. These waffles are awesome. My brothers used to be the waffle maker boys at a stand in Cincinnati- I'm glad they introduced me to Taste of Belgium!

Waffles for Lunch and Dessert. Waffles are not just for breakfast. This was a wonderful dessert. I enjoyed them so much while at the North Market I bought to bags to take home.

If you have had their waffles, then you know what I am talking about! If you haven't…you are missing out on the best damn waffles on this planet!! I visit the North Market location…where the line is long as the eye can see on weekends. I usually see people walk by…take a sample…then quickly circle back around for more. Yes - they are that tasty! '410px' : 'auto'); } So what makes these waffles special?! First the dough is thicker and sweeter than most waffles. Then they are cooked up fresh in front of your eyes…they smell

These waffles are thick, rich, heavy, and sweet. They're made with a thick dough (just watch them dab it onto the waffle iron), with Belgian beet sugar mixed into the batter.

They make great authentic Belgian waffles which are sweetened with beat sugar imported from Belgium. This is the only place this special type of sugar can be located. The waffles are toped with your choice of toppings.

Was visiting Columbus, went on Sat and Sun. Service was quick, the woman at the counter remembered me and asked about my experiences. Has good to-go boxes. The Smores waffle was the most unique experience as waffle places go.

Excellent food and friendly staff! We shared a chicken and waffles and an order of the bananas and Nutella waffle. It was quite a treat and was great for brunch! Little seating, but it wasn’t too busy in the market that day. Will be back for sure!! Hint: Try the Buckeye Flavored iced!!

Absolutely the best waffles I've ever had. And surprisingly, for being a waffle shop, they sell amazing chicken for the classic chicken and waffles combo. Great service too, even when you have to wait a bit for the food to be ready. A side note though, I was unable to bring a friend with allergies here as some of the food have nuts in them. Not necessarily a gripe with the company, but be aware.

Chicken and waffles here is a must! The chicken is boneless, and the waffle is pretty thick. If you're a lover of syrup, there's typically not much syrup on the waffle, so if you're into that, you may want to ask for extra syrup. If you're planning on eating here, there's a bar in front of the waffle makers that has about 5 bar stools, but that's it. You might have to go outside to sit and eat, or take the food to go. I would also recommend getting some waffles to go!

Was a bit confused that this place was it's separate store-front, however it's in the north market! In a booth in itself, you can find the bright yellow sign that says "Taste of Belgium". We came by here pretty early and we were one of the guy's first customers. What a good choice we made by stopping by here to have the chicken and waffle as well as the waffle with turkey. The chicken and waffle piece of chicken was SO SO SO delicious. The sweetness of the syrup and the hot sauce were made in heaven together. It made the chicken so delectable and I truly wanted more. My turkey waffle was interesting. It was like a turkey sandwich with two piece of waffle that sandwiched it together (it was one piece split in half). Not too much of a fan of the TB Latte that has orange flavoring in it though.

I used to live in Cincinnati where I had my first Belgian waffle ever. They always reminded me of desert and not a meal and before I would leave Findlay market I would always get one (like always getting a funnel cake before leaving an amusement park). So when I went to north market for the first time ever and saw they had one. I knew it was 2nd desert lol. Staff gets 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ They are really friendly and the guy on the waffle machine is super helpful in making good suggestions and he cooks the waffles perfectly. The waffle itself gets 5 stars when hot but 3 stars when not. I broke off a small piece as soon as I got it and I’m so glad it did because it just melted in my mouth and tasted so good. But since I just had a donut I couldn’t eat the whole thing so I said I would save it for dinner. Tried it room temperature that night and it wasn’t good. Reheated it in the microwave and it had a slight improvement but nowhere near as good as fresh from the iron. I still recommend this place but definitely do yourself a favor and eat it right then and there. They do sell them in packs and I’m sure they come with instructions so maybe the microwave isn’t recommended. Either way it goes, fresher is better 😊

I wandered around the market for a little while and settled on this place because of the lack of line. DO NOT LET THAT SCARE YOU. The food was really good. I liked the denseness of the waffle and the crispiness and flavor of their fried chicken. They also offer crepes and frites!

Very good 'Belgium' style waffle where clusters of sugar are infused into the batter. FYI, the waffles are not huge but are smaller hand-held size. If you are looking for a filling breakfast, I recommend the chicken and waffle

Up until two days ago I’d only had the banana Nutella crepe with strawberries. It wasn’t the best crepe I had ever had, but it got the job done. Two days ago I tried the ham and Brie sandwich. It was the best sandwich I’d ever had on a waffle.
