They give you a great amount of food with every order. I had ordered the quesadilla and it came with sides that were included part of the meal. Great value for the price. Staff is overall really helpful and friendly deafly. Recommend for a great night out.

Food was delicious (I built my own bowl) and fresh. Our server was friendly and did a great job. Someone was holding a large party but the restaurant still had room for plenty of other diners

We decided to come here today after reading some of the most recent reviews and Chile Verde did not disappoint!! Warm welcome from the owner, who informed our server that it was our first time there. She brought over some really tasty salsa and fresh chips and then brought us a sampler of all of their signature sauces and meats so we could understand their flavours before we chose our meal..... Long story short, excellent service, excellent, fresh food, fantastic vibe, obviously popular (we arrived at 4.45 and by 6pm there was a line out the door!). Do yourself a favor and try this simply wonderful local gem!

I don't leave reviews really ever but this place deserves it and so much more! My family and I were astonished with how exceptional the service and food was, especially because of the situation. We didn't realize what time they closed until we arrived, which was 20 minutes before they were closing. So we decide to just take our order to go upon arrival. The owner himself had greeted us when we walked in and after we said we wanted to take it to go due to how close it was to closing, he vehemently insisted we experience their food for the first time while dining in (he learned it was our first time there). So we agree, and as soon as we were seated, a very friendly waitress (cannot remember her name but she was a bubbly Latina with hair pulled back into a bun and had bangs) came up to us and despite the timing, was extremely hospitable and welcoming. We were even given a complimentary sample of their meats and sauces which we weren't even expecting. My parents loved every bit of it and were reminiscing the entire time about their days back in New Mexico and how similar the food was to what they were used to when they lived in New Mexico. Once we ordered, the food came out very quickly and tasted phenomenal. The owner came by to check on us and talk a little more about the background of the restaurant before we left. Between their hospitality and quality of the food, we unanimously agreed this was beyond the best experience we have ever had at any restaurant ever. Thank you guys for being so kind and for bringing amazing cuisine to Columbus! I am absolutely telling everybody about this place and hope my review helps many others to go have the same amazing experience we had!

No horchata, but they had Jarritos. BBQ burrito was great. Delicious cheese sauce inside. More bell peppers than I expected, but still tasted really good. We also got enchiladas. Chile relleno was the best we've had in Ohio.

The best mexican food in Columbus! We had the tots as an appetizer (THE BEST!) and we both built our own bowl. The meat is so juicy and flavorful and you get a lot of food for the price. The only bad thing about this place is how early it closes :( hope they can expand their hours eventually.

My family and I have been coming here for the last 2 or more years, and each time we have received excellent service. From when you first walk into the door and all the way through to when you're ready to leave, the staff has been nothing short of professional. As for the food, I have yet to have anything here that I DON'T like. Their dishes are wonderfully diverse, and as mild or as spicy as you want. My personal favorite is the Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo. With everything stated and considered, I and my family will continue to return here for the great atmosphere, and even greater food!

We moved to Columbus a year ago, we are originally from New Mexico and in heaven we found this totally authentic New Mexican food. Wife had a Navajo taco and I had to get a taste of everything to confirm it’s authenticity so I had an Enchilada, Tamale and Chile Relleno and both the Chile sauce and salsa’s were spot on. Wait staff was great, restaurant clean and totally great quality!!!! Found are place to go!!!

We came to Chile Verde for lunch on Saturday, and inside was surprisingly empty. I'm not quite sure why, because the food is delicious. I came here under a recommendation that Chile Verde is WAY better than El Vaquero, so we tried it out and the statement was absolutely right. When we were being seated, we noticed the atmosphere and design of the restaurant was really fascinating and neat. There were lots of Native American, Mexican, and South Western themed pictures and decorations hanging. As soon as we sat down we were served tortilla chips and salsa. The chips were warm and crunchy, and the salsa didn't taste poured out of a jar and tasted fresh. While we munched on the chips, we ordered a few margaritas off their drink menu. I had the 1800, which tasted really refreshing and vacationy. Highly recommend drinking it out of the glass and not the straw that it's served it. The rim of the glass is salted so it strengthens the flavor even more. Then my Albuquerque Platter arrived, which is a plate with slow marinated chicken, lots of shrimp, and sauteed chorizo. The dish comes with black means, but I substituted it out for the red rice, which was a great addition to the dish. Additionally, the platter came with flour tortilla wraps but honestly I didn't want to mess with the flavor and I didn't think it really needed to be wrapped. It tasted amazing off the plate. The mashed potatoes were served on a small side dish, and they weren't bad but maybe tasted heated up to me at least. I'm just not a mashed potato fan, and if you aren't either consider subbing the mashed potatoes out for something else off their side menu. Great space and amazing food. The portion size was no joke, so I had to take it home. Later in the day, I ended up finishing my leftovers, and they tasted even better after the flavor has settled. Definitely will be back!

Chili verde is a good southwestern mexican restaurant. Always dependable with good food and good service. Four stars might have been five stars but the food took a little long to arrive at the table even though the waitress did apologize and had a valid excuse. The second margarita was late as well but it didn't matter cuz the first margarita did its job. We will return.
