With two arts hotels, multiple arts neighborhoods, three of the nation's most revered major arts institutions (one is a botanical garden), and a private collection that rivals that of many museums, it's easy to see why Columbus is on any art lover's bucket list. The Guild House 624 N. High St., (614) 280-9780. This sophisticated spot makes a good stop for breakfast as you start this artsy tour. It is located next door to the next stop, The Joseph hotel, for which it does food service. The restaurant is inside a vintage brick building and presents a relaxing atmosphere, with high ceilings, a woodsy decor, and comfortable seating. Some oversize paintings enhance the setting. A selection from a variety of smoothies and fresh juices is a good way to start. I enjoyed a classic eggs Benedict, while my companion enjoyed a colorful granola parfait.
This one has more of a high-end Gastropub feel, but still very, very approachable. The food here is quality, and at the end of the day that’s the thing that’s going to be what’s drawing you back, not the name recognition or the shiny new building in the snazzy neighborhood.
Of the various Cameron Mitchell Restaurants concepts, The Guild House has always been one of the most interesting to me. Their name nods to the idea of the guild, or a collective of skilled craftsmen – in this case the culinary guild. This guild creates breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients.
Stopped here after the Arnold Sports Festival, amazing amazing dinner and dessert. The inside was beautiful as well with a kind staff. 10/10 would go again.
Wow not sure were to start.... Giving a 4.0 because it's better then 3.5 wish you could 3.8
Went here for a birthday dinner the atmosphere was great we got the best seat in the house in front of the fireplace great wine selection we had the smoked trout appetizer which was great, then we had split the Brussel sprout salad which was ok I think they over cooked just a little bit....then on to the main I don't want to say I am a ribeye steak snob but that is my favorite cut of meat an I think I have made better steak at home seemed a little tough but it was cooked to a perfect medium rare it should have cut like butter but didn't .... I probably should of tried the special of the day the braised short rib .... The desserts were spot on the Signature Dessert Sundae is awesome. It will probably be awhile before we go back
I hate to echo other reviewers, but the food just does not live up to the atmosphere here. I had high expectations going in, reading the menu with items such as caviar cauliflower and looking at beautifully plated food in pictures. The food just lacked a punch of flavor, and generally fell flat. May possibly return for a cocktail or brunch..
We went for a birthday celebration and had a great meal. The scallops are good, the flatbread app is delicious. The desserts are great, the donuts and the trifle are amazing. Our server could not have done a better job. The look of the place is so cool inside.
Cool atmosphere & outstanding food. Friday night, place was packed including the bar. Cocktails were perfect. Enjoyed the brussel sprout appetizer & duck pate. Seared scallop entree cooked to perfection. Service was ok, not great. Only complaint, cheesy club music playing loudly did not fit the scene. Will return.
Hands down Cameron Mitchelles best restaurant. The food was AMAZING and the service impeccable. I souls go back again And again and again.

A Hidden Gem: The Guild Restaurant Delights with Unexpectedly Good Food and a Wonderful Atmosphere
I had the pleasure of dining at The Guild Restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful surprise. The food exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return. This restaurant is not only perfect for adults but also kid-friendly.
The atmosphere at The Guild is truly amazing, boasting a wonderful ambience that sets the perfect mood for a great dining experience. The decor is beautiful, and the staff is equally impressive.
What’s even better is that the meals are very affordable, making it a fantastic option for both everyday dining and special occasions. I have to give this restaurant a perfect 10 out of 10 for its overall experience.
We ordered the PANCAKES, and they were a burst of flavors in every bite. Fresh fruit, lemon curd, and Ohio maple syrup, paired with bacon, created a combination that was simply mouthwatering.
As for the appetizer, we tried the OYSTER MUSHROOMS, although I have to agree that they looked more like calamari mushrooms. Nevertheless, the dish was incredibly flavorful, and the truffle aioli was a perfect complement. I’d definitely recommend trying it.
All in all, my experience at The Guild Restaurant was outstanding, and I can’t wait to go back for more of their fantastic food and atmosphere.
Ambiance was great, presentation was good, service was great. The food itself had good attributes but nothing knocked my socks off like I was expecting. Overpriced for the flavor and quantity you get. Glad we went, and beautiful concept but not to die for food that you have to visit again and again for. We got the sweet potato rolls, the wagyu, brusselsprouts, scallops & the blackberry smash.
Went to Guild House for my parents’ 40th anniversary and we had a big party to accommodate - 16. I made a reservation months in advance (since we all had to make travel plans) and the staff was kind throughout that process.
The dinner was excellent and TGH was very helpful with a large, rambunctious group that included 3 children. All the food was delicious (scallops weren’t the most flavor-forward, which was a bummer). The duck gnocchi was a highlight.
Oysters were listed as $19, and I was SHOCKED to know that was for 3, not 6… way too much money for a lot of extra stuff put on them. But I wasn’t paying 💁🏼♂️
A bit expensive but nice atmosphere for breakfast or brunch. Decent coffee and good service. We loved the smoked chicken hash. Pancakes were just okay.
My favorite restaurant in Columbus by miles. Always love bringing new locals in to support this fabulous establishment. The staff and chefs are outstanding. As usual had an incredible experience. They accommodated my allergy with ease and so I got to try some new dishes. Travis was awesome. We had a blast. The cocktails were excellent and so was the wine. The food was perfectly timed and cooked and the presentation was beautiful but overall I loved the complex and layered flavors of each dish. Don't think twice book your reservation now!
Really neat place, with very unique food.
We had the wagyu for an appetizer, which in itself will fill you up.
For the entree I got the Joyce’s farm chicken, that was the best chicken breast I’ve ever eaten, even though it has my name, it’s an unbiased opinion. The outside was crispy, the inside was so juicy & tender. Green beans, corn, and cherry tomatoes complimented it perfectly.
Now let me get started on the dessert!
We both got a latte with the S’mores which was delightful, it included Near North Bourbon chocolate mousse, graham crumble, bruleed house marshmallow, and lace cookie.
All around perfect meal, less than $150 too.
First time ever at The Guild House and I will be back!! I went for brunch on a Saturday and it wasn't overly busy. The cocktails were delicious! The chicken breakfast hash was super light yet filling. The server also paid attention to my allergies to I appreciated that. Atmosphere was beautiful and classy. Great spot for business, girls day, or nice dinner. Would recommend making a reservation for anything after 1pm.
I love the interior design of the place and its open space design, classy and elegance in 1. Tables are a little smaller for a group consider they serve their food in bigger plates for a better presentation. Their food is on the salty side, a customer could probably request less sodium on their menu of choice. Drink prices are typical of a downtown fancy resto. Local wagyu was really good. I was just disappointed that despite the server knowing we have a birthday girl in our party, we didnt get any special treat on the house for the birthday girl, even fancy steakhouse resto does it:(
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. We had an amazing experience! The food and drinks were excellent. We had the seasonal cocktail, the local wagyu and burrata for appetizers, and the filet for our entree. They gave us the cherry sundae for her birthday and it was outstanding. And our server was able to answer all of our questions. He was attentive but not intrusive at all. The restaurant itself has a great vibe although it did get a bit noisy at times. Overall highly recommend!!
What a spectacular dining experience at The Guild House! Me and my fiancée chose this restaurant to celebrate our 8-year anniversary and everything was superb. The staff were so welcoming and polite the entire time and the food was some of the best I've ever had. Couldn't recommend this place ENOUGH! GO!!!
