Tequila Mexican Restaurant

This place doesn't really need my review it speaks for itself, but I'm going to make one anyway. Firstly we were thrown off when we walked in and you order fast food style, even though that was different and unexpected we loved it. You order, get your number, pick your table (inside or out) and wait for them to bring your food. From there it's like a typical casual restaurant except you get your own soda refills... Which I loved. Alcohol is served to the table. The food was amazing and took only 5 minutes to arrive hot and fresh. Restrooms were decorated nice and very clean. If you like Mexican food this stop is a must. I recommend the monster burrito, it is truly enormous. Almost a foot long.

The new renovations take it from a nice sit down restaurant to a fast food place. Chips and salsa now come out in paper and plastic. I plastic container of salsa for the whole table to share. Whereas before, a table received a small carafe of salsa to share and each person had small bowl. A little late for all of this, if all the changes are due to Covid. The add-ons that use to be part of your meal are now extra.

I have always enjoyed Tequila's in Columbia and was very interested to see their space after their remodel. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good experience. It's all self serve now, I never had any interaction with anyone after I ordered except when they dropped food at the table and kept going. Everything is in disposable containers, salsa and chips come in a plastic to go bowl and a paper boat. Same with guacamole. I refilled my own drink. The worst part, though, was the volume. Opening everything up made it SO LOUD in the restaurant. It was way too much, there are too many other sit down restaurant options where the servers actually serve for me to go back here. If I wanted fast food I would have hit Taco Bell.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to like the ordering system after our first visit on opening night. We returned tonight snd we’re very happy with the service. Food was great (as always) and paying after lacing order was great! No waiting for check, food and drink delivered quickly and rather than wait for a server to come by so I could ask for a “go box”, they were available by the drink station. All in all, a great experience!

Was very disappointed in the self-serve style. The margaritas really did not have much tequila in them. I will say the open floor plan was an improvement than what they had before. If they would go back to having servers take your order at the table and improve on menu I could see myself coming back, but I don't expect that to happen.
