Taco Express Columbia

This place was great! I saw another review mentioning that they were from San Diego and approved of the food here so I had to try as a San Diego native myself (born and raised as well). And I agree with their review! This place has great Mexican food! Now that two San Diego natives have said it’s good, YOU have to try it!

Let's start with the positives: -Tortillas were flavorful and had the traditional "double tortilla" -Amount of food for the price was decent -Ratio of limes to tacos was 1:1 -Torta was toasted perfectly -Carnita flavor was decent Now for the negatives: -The Pico was disgusting. (Old/dull/runny and had zero flavor. Wonder how long ago it was made.) -The shrimp were so overcooked they were comparable to rubber and even felt as if they were not peeled. *they really were peeled. The limes had absolutely no juice in them. Not even ripe. Overall, 2 stars. It had a great concept. But I would compare it to building a great show car and sticking cheap $20 tired on the thing. Disappointed

This place was amazing!! I would drive back to just to have the torta! My boyfriend had to try several things a taco, a chalupa, and a tamale there was nothing left it was really good. And he is not a food person he only eats because you have to so for him to say it was good it was really good I just hate that I didn't take time to take a picture of our food.

Went last night forgetting what day it was and was able to take advantage of their GREAT Taco Tuesday deal. We had 3 (fried) fish and 3 carne asada (steak) tacos. The fish was so good, flaky on the inside and crispy on the outside. It was topped with shredded cabbage, pico, and a crema of sorts. The carne asada was deliciously seasoned and topped with some guac and pico. Highly recommend asking for Mexican salsa to add a bit of spiciness. Also enjoyed their chips and salsa!

Coming from San Diego (born and raised for 40 years) I know a good taco shop. My 1st bite I felt like I was in San Diego again. But even better. We have been MANY times now and had many items, beef rolled tacos with guacamole and extra chees only, rice, potato tacos, BEST Machaca burrito I have ever had, insanely huge chimichangas, best chips and salsa and they serve Pepsi products.....my favorite and so hard to find in the south. Highly recommend!!! Great food, friendly service!!
