I had been trying to get here for a while based on a recommendation from a coworker. The food was worth the wait. I am from New Orleans and I can honestly say this is the best fried chicken I have ever had. It was prepared to order so I waited for a little while. Chicken had the perfect crisp on the outside and juicy in the inside. Perfectly seasoned! I am a fan !

I've heard about this spot on Facebook and a few friends said that the food was great. So, today we decided to order and was excited to support a local business. However, the food wasn't good at all. We got one 3-piece meal and one 4-piece meal ($30). The chicken was seasoned well though it tasted like oil. The sides were mac and cheese, greens, and yams. The mac had a strange taste like flour and cheese wiz. The greens were extremely salty, the corn bread was stale with no taste (trashed both immediately), and the yams were tender but loaded with sugar. I couldn't even eat the stuff. We all were just super disappointed. My sister said that the food was amazing when the restaurant was in Long Reach. Maybe it has different management and cooks. I wanted to love it! Long story short, we definitely won't go back. I'll stick with Southern Blues as their food is more authentic soul food particularly the mac and cheese.

I really hate to leave negative reviews for businesses but there is no way to avoid this. I ordered their 1lb shrimp basket for $17 and was given 9 shrimp and a few soggy fries. I also ordered a catfish dinner and was told there was no cornbread left after paying. I spent almost $50 and I was given end of the day scraps. I try to support black owned businesses like this one but never again. It’s good to see young black teens working in this place but they need some adult supervision. This entire brand is being run into the ground due to lack of management. Very sad.
