Pho Dat Thanh

My favorite Vietnamese restaurant in all of Maryland. I’ve been to several others in Montgomery County, Prince George’s County also Howard County. They have an extensive menu, the restaurant is clean and they give a lot of bean sprouts and leaves with the Pho soup. Also they don’t cut up the noodles. Other places you go to the noodles are cut up. Also the broth is clean. Other places the broth has a dish water appearance.

I'm giving this place a 4 star b/c even though I was confused about the flavors, they were good. The alcoholic drinks were WAYYYY too strong & we couldn't drink them. The sesame chicken & rice was delicious & the customer service was outstanding 👌 I'm trying new foods & this was the 2nd week of my adventures in food.

Reasonable price and delicious food. My favorite dishes from this place are crispy beef, roast quails, fish pot, soft egg noodles with shrimp, chicken, & beef, Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce. My son loves the roast pork summer rolls. If you order carry out over the phone, make sure you tell them the dish code because they often make a mistake with my orders.

When I place an order online, on a weeknight, and they tell me 35 minutes, I expect 35 minutes until it’s ready. If it’s going to take longer, then quote me a longer time. When I arrived 5 minutes after the time sent in the confirmation email, I was told my order would be ready in a few minutes. 20 minutes later I ask again after multiple other people have come and gone to pick up their food. When I ask they say it’s being worked on still. The restaurant is maybe 10% full and other are getting their food, two of whom told me their order pick up time was scheduled after mine. After 30 minutes past the confirmed pick up time my food finally came out. There was no apologies for the delay, just here’s your food. This was the first time we decided to try this restaurant and after the experience it will be and the last time. Avoid Pho Dat Thanh, there are better options in Howard County.

Very nice restaurant with friendly staffs. They do temperature check in first when you walk into the door. They care about your safety and other customer’s safety. Not a lot of restaurants take temperature check so you can feel safe eating indoor. The food is great. It came out hot and fresh. The price is okay, but definitely a great safe and clean spot to have a nice lunch or dinner with your family or friends.

We always love coming here, every time it's like coming home! Our fave's order: D2 Chin Nam, Gan, Sach : pho soup with slice of well done flank, well done brisket, soft tendon and bible tripe D9 Tai : pho soup with slices of eye-round-steak Our favorite server Angela, alright know what's our order for even from a takeout call. She is the best!

Food is very good. But the waiter and waitresses are really greedy. Most of them always ask about tips. They don’t even care about the service they gave us. On December 21st my husband and I went for dinner. And without asking me the waiter deducted 15% tips from my card. While the young man didn’t even gave us proper service. I am totally disappointed and highly dissatisfied about this. Being an Asian owned restaurant they themselves were showing racial discrimination towards Asian customers. My total bill was $25.33, but when I checked my account I saw that they took 15% tips which I didn’t even mentioned.

It has been several years since I have been back at this restaurant. The pho bug got us and we were on the hunt for a good bowl of pho. We visited this restaurant the evening of 4/6/2021 and figured to give it a try since it has been a while. As a Vietnamese and someone who eats pho on the regular, the pho at this restaurant was the worst I have ever had, and that's not even an exaggeration. The broth play a very important role in a good bowl of pho and the broth here was pretty much water with a hint of pho. They were also really cheap on meat compared to other places in the area. When asked for basil, they said they ran out today. Compare our picture to the other reviews, you can see that basil is no where present either. If "Pho" is in the name of your restaurant, that is the one dish you better get it right, and this place did not. Needless to say, we left not satisfied at all.
