Probably the most popular college hangout in Columbia, MO. Friendly staff, good food, and great drinks. This place is an institution, as it's been around from over 50 years. I recommend Sunday brunch which is buffet style and includes an omelet station.
It was our first time there went there with my brother and sisters and cousin food was good and the shots we took were super good haha recommend this place
Our server was great and helpful. They have gluten free options for those with celiac. The fries are cooked in the same fryer as breaded things so the fries are off limits unfortunately, but there’s plenty to choose from.
A popular place for Mizzou students (especially those who enjoy drinking). The BOGO appetizers during happy hour are a great deal. Sadly, the chicken wings are not BOGO. I was also disappointed in the club skins as there was a lack of melted cheese and the turkey cubes were oddly large. The staff is quite friendly and attentive. They also have a nice banquet room that can be reserved.
Great food. Fun atmosphere. I bet it was even more fun pre-Covid. The porch was closed and the party room shut down. It does not look like they have put a lot back into the building. But it is a campus hangout so it probably gets abused quite a bit on the weekends. Service was good and personal-able. The German potato salad was very vinigary, I am told that is authentic, by my German wife. My mouth is watering now just writing about it. There is a lot of history here. You can’t really say you are a Colombian, if you have not eaten here or had a beer from the Heidelberg! Came back 7-10-22. Some improvements have been made. That is all that I can say.
I love hanging out here with my friends especially when it’s warm out and you can sit on the roof. The drinks are always amazing. The food is good but not great, but it still gets five stars for the atmosphere and bar.
Now, let’s keep this straight … it’s a bar, and a somewhat infamous spot near campus historically known for its bar more so than it’s dining…. It is what it is. Since my days being here on occasion, it seems roomier and brighter. The drinks came quickly, we had ample local beer options, and honestly for it being a game day (right after loss to Boston college) it was adequate but we lost the waitress for quite a while while they did shots and we had to get back to the swim meet. So service was ok, then not. Beers were good and cold. Appetizers were appetizers. So, in review it’s like a cleaner, more spacious and brighter version. And it smells better. Lol, but still has same vibe. Plus one for nostalgia.
Service was good. Chef salads were good. Try the German potato salad! My German grandmother would approve. It's an old brick building, college atmosphere, a bit of echoing when full. Definitely recommend.
Great atmosphere but the food generally leaves a little more to be desired. For the price I'd expect higher quality. But it's not upsetting. The burgers are the best bang for buck item
