Went here during Happy Hour- great selection of food and drinks discounted from 4-6pm. Wasn't busy at all when we got there around 5pm, but there was still live music happening. Seated immediately, service from Evan was pleasant and knowledgeable. We got two rounds of classic margaritas, along with ahi tuna wontons, Buffalo chicken dip (recommended by Evan), and Carolina fireballs to snack on. Everything was great! The tuna wontons were delicious. The chicken dip itself was amazing- the right amount of spicy to creamy ratio, but came with a lot more chips than needed for the amount of dip. Carolina fireballs were tasty, but advertised as spicy and were not (easily remedied by scooping up some Buffalo chicken dip, or adding any of the many hot sauces they had available.) Overall, the vibes were great, staff was attentive and knowledgeable, live music was a bonus, and the food was yummy. The only issue was the stairs to get inside (the inside and outside are both second story). For anyone using disability devices or carrying a stroller, this place would be hard to get up to. Not an issue for us, personally, but just one drawback I could see for anyone who has issues going up and down stairs! But definitely come check this place out for the happy hour, we were very happy with our experience!

The atmosphere and live band complemented the food. Probably the first restaurant review for me where there is no picture of food, but a video of the band that was playing 😜. Anyways, the fish tacos were good but certainly not the best I have eaten around. The fish was well cooked but was missing the flavor. All in all, a good place to have a casual bite.

The atmosphere there was very unique. We only had lunch, so we did not get to sample a whole lot, but what we had was very good. The service was very friendly and Building itself was very original. That is what I liked to the best!

A great restaurant at a great location! I went to Big Bamboo after a day at the beach and had a creaser salad with Ahi Tuna (with the recommendation of Bern, thank you for improving the salad) and I love how there's a Cocktail Of The Day at a lower price so you can always try something new (Had the Lemonator and it was delicious!) A must stop after a long day at the beach!

Evan was absolutely amazing! He is so intelligent and knew the menu like the back of his hand! I am allergic to gluten and he knew what was gluten-free and vegan on the menu. He was wonderful. Thank you so much!

While on vacation we stopped here 2 nights for their food and live music. It was awesome- last night's band was Cornbred- these guys are very talented!

Another rate five stars, and Big Bamboo earned it! From the incredibly entertaining and attentive waiter, to the management and bat staff-- a real pleasure for lunch. And my Will Caesar salad with blackened mahi was outstanding! The decor was also really cool without being overly ridiculous or cheesy-- WWII-themed pacific Islands bar. Reminded me of the ABC series, Tales of the Golden Monkey. Childhood memories... Well done!

I wish I could go with a 3 1/2 stars for my review. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this restaurant, but there was nothing great about it either. I went with their nachos, which they claim are "touted by locals as the best on the island." Obviously, the competition must be limited, because the nachos were inoffensive but not very interesting. I ended up eating half of my son's pasta with red sauce, which was somehow more tasty. My fiance liked his fish and chips, and described the fish as better than anything he'd eat when he wasn't on the coast (aka, back home in Ohio). We sat outside in the covered eating section during the rain, which was a pretty nice experience (except when it got super windy). I did go inside to use the restroom and was glad we opted for the outdoor seating, since the indoor seating area was more dimly lit and had a bit of a bar vibe. Live music was nice, although we only heard a bit of it. I probably wouldn't seek out this restaurant again if we're back in Hilton Head, but I also wouldn't actively avoid it, either.

Great food and great atmosphere. If you go ask for Samantha. She gave us a great experience. We had a pretty big party but she did amazing job as our waitress. Very bubbly personality and was very helpful for us since we were on vacation.
