Peterson's Ice Cream Depot

The ice cream is amazing here! Definitely a must if you are in the area. If we didn’t see the amount of people walking off with ice cream, we wouldn’t have encountered such an amazing spot. I got the coffee flavor. The name is something different on the menu but it has buts of coffee bean in it and it seriously balances out the ice cream! 💯

The ice cream was very good! The workers provided good information (I wanted to know exactly what was in the ice cream, as the name was not fully descriptive), were friendly, and the order was filled quickly. The ice cream is not cheap though - it was $9 for two large scoops. But I would return there again and buy more. I had the Intense Chocolate (a dark chocolate flavour) and Cookies & Cream - one scoop of each.

We usually make a special trip to get ice cream here when we come to visit family. The ice cream here is creamy and delicious. They have interesting flavors that changes to keep things interesting. I really enjoyed the white chocolate malt and blueberry thriller. The blueberry was particularly special. This place is worth the trip!

Ok… the soft stuff twist was like licking my childhood memories, except it wasn’t quite as built up on top the cone, it was more round and bulging so had to lick quick and strategically! One lady came running around to the window frantically saying “i need a bowl! My husbands ice cream is melting like crazy and it’s all over the place!” Oh the visuals in my mind 😆😆😆i think the place where you order changes from time to time. Tonight we ordered around back and got it around front. Kind of nice except for the lady standing in front of the napkins waiting for her second cone when the rest of us were chillin on the many benches, so she blocked everyone that was called before her from getting napkins… cause you know we all grab them, especially when it’s hot! But, she has nothing to do with the rating. Delicious ice cream, a perfect treat on a hot day! Update… tried the scoop of vanilla… d-licious!!! Like reliving my childhood all over again! This place has become my “go to” for a quick treat!

Wish I could give this more than 5 stars! Large servings. Every single thing we got was perfect. This is going to be a place we take visitors to Fairfax! Parking was tough, but well worth it. Our group of 5 loved the banana split, huge single scoop waffle cone, and single cups of ice cream. Ask for a pup cup! Ample outdoor shaded seating, and they even give cups of water and have games for kids. I can’t wait to come back!

So glad we stopped at Peterson's. We wanted something, but after a big lunch, didn't really want dinner. After spending a couple of hours canoeing on a nearby lake, we thought ice cream would be a tasty treat. The dogs were in tow, they are always up for a pup cup. We decided to split a brownie sundae with one scoop of lockdown therapy (Graham cracker ice cream) and happy ending (cookie dough). The sundae included hot fudge, caramel sauce, oreo crumbles, cookie pieces, whipped cream, and a cherry. A great treat for us and the pups at a very affordable price (only $8 plus tip). The line was long but moved quickly. We waited approximately 30 minutes, but the line was almost to the sidewalk out front when we arrived. There were so many options, we had time to really read through the menu. Plus, the puppies loved all of the attention they received. We will definitely stop at Peterson's next time we are in the area.
