Rock'n R Bbq

Today I tried this place for the first time. I got several different items on the menu just to see how a variety of items tasted. I was in shock! The food was full of flavor and even though it offers many of the same items that other restaurants around do, this food was above and beyond any other place I have eaten in the area. The spaghetti was to absolutely die for. It is like that kind of spaghetti your great grandma could make but no one else can replicate it just right so you will never get to have it again. This one is just right and Made me so happy. The pulled pork: amazing! Wonderful! Wow! The gumbo... umm WOWWWW!!!!! Since I moved from Louisiana to Texas I have not once had a gumbo that came close to anywhere near acceptable in Louisiana terms but this one passed the test with flying colors. Don’t skip on the desserts either! You will want to try these! The owner is so down to earth and great too. This is my new go to!

Home made Gumbo is to die for! The employees have personality and the atmosphere is chatty. The baked potatoes are a meal for 2. The chef delivered my Gumbo personally. The beef brisket is well smoked. The food is prepared right in front of you. The sweet tea is piping hot ready to melt the ice. Bravo to country cooking done right! Can't wait to try the large variety.

We met Ron in the parking lot next-door after he was already closed and struck up a conversation with him, he invited us in to the restaurant so he could pack us up some food to go because he knew we had a long day. After nice talk we were on our way with our to-go bag of goodies. When we got home we were pleasantly surprised with all of the generous samples he had given us - awesome brisket, awesome sausage and awesome ribs, not to mention the best baked beans and potato salad I’ve ever had. We will definitely be back, and more importantly we feel like we have a new friend.. thanks Ron!
