Before the browns and cowboys game, a buddy and I stopped in to get a bite to eat. This place was right next to our pay to park spot. Burgers were excellent and a bit greasy as we're the fries. The staff was friendly and even joked with us about drinking beer in the parking lot before coming in and getting a burger.
I enjoy coming here while having my car worked on down the street. Staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, location is convenient, and food is fresh. It's also a great place to hang out and do homework if you're a student at CSU. Highly recommend!
Wandered in to Barrister's late morning and met a customer for lunch to discuss some of our new products. Nice deli with quality food. Plenty of meter parking out front and easy access to downtown. Ordered a turkey sandwich on rye with lettuce and tomato and they don't skimp. Complimented them on the ingredients as they did not use iceberg but a very wonderful red leaf lettuce. The sandwich was fantastic and so was my customers. We left happy and not hungry. I will make certain that I return to Barrister's as they provide great quality food in a warm and very clean environment.
Great Mediterranean platter, nice mellow vibe. Full bar (well stocked I must add). It was slow when I was there and the owner waited for me. Nice and attentive. I’m he highlight of my overnight stay in Cleveland

I wasn’t super thrilled when my husband wanted our first stop in Cleveland to be a deli— BOY, was I mistaken. Barrister’s is a GEM! Don’t walk, RUN.
I ordered a corned beef reuben, which came with a pickle and a side of fries. Hand to God, it was the BEST. REUBEN. EVER.
- Buttered, grilled toast
- A tower of flavorful, lightly shaved corned beef
- Thousand Island dressing on the side (so you can add as much or as little as you like)
- Delicious sauerkraut with a perfect crunch, sandwiched between the corned beef
The serving size is more than enough for the hungriest appetites. I couldn’t finish the fries, but as big as the sandwich was, it wasn’t too dense or heavy.
Not only was the food amazing, but the service was immaculate. We were greeted warmly and promptly, sat at the bar, and the food came out within minutes.
The price was certainly reasonable. My meal was on the pricier end at $15 and I couldn’t finish it all.
If you’re in Cleveland, definitely give this place a visit! My husband and I will definitely be back— probably again this weekend.
This place is awesome! Mom and pop vibes with great service and even greater food! This should be on diners drive-ins and dives. The value was great too. Glad i don't live near by or I'd have to go every day!
We found Barrister’s when we were looking for a corned beef sandwich after the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. We were so stoked to find this place - it’s amazing - classic Cleveland character and our server was great. No frills, just good eats. The jumbo corned beef was such a generous portion, it couldn’t be finished. Fresh cut fries and fountain pop, the perfect additions. You gotta check it out!
This is a hidden gem in a nook and cranny corner of Cleveland. It is a combination fast casual dining and old school deli. My Reuben (with house made corned beef) was melt in your mouth delicious and my wife’s blue burger was exactly as she likes it: a burger, blue cheese and grilled onions. The fries and homemade potato salad were both excellent as well.
Reuben sandwich. Tasted good, but I wondered about the freshness. Monday morning and was the meat from Friday 😄 I wanted one because it was close to St Patrick's Day. Last time here was in March 2020. Regular corn beef. I didn't take a photo of the Reuben. Photo from first time there posted; not bad. I don't eat corn beef much anymore, but I think I want one more next week. 😄
This place is great , unfortunately this was my first time here , and I grew up just 30 blocks down St Clair. This is an old school diner right at East 13 th just one block North of St Clair . When you enter has that old school vibe you order at counter then take your number and set it on the table of your choice . This Deli has a full bar with all your favorite liquor. They do catering here , and to go orders as well as dine in. I had the jumbo corned beef and fresh cut fries dam it was all good . One of the Highlights of this Deli is all their fountain sodas are made with fresh sugar cane . Wow !!!! I had the black cherry soda , and I tried the lemon Lime free refills self serve soda fountain. Wonderful old school Decor . Open 4 hours before all Home Browns games so eat and drink up folks .
Excellent Pastrami Reuben Sandwich and sides. Highly recommended.
Best little accidental find of our trip. I had the Italian my wife had the Ruben. Fantastically friendly service along with the best sandwiches we’ve had.
