Very Cleveland. Friendly owner - great with kids. Yummy sandwiches with creative menu, unique condiments, local flavors. Fun and creative artwork. Have kids count how many Cleveland Pickles they can find. Small eating space with stool seating only.
If you find yourself in downtown Cleveland and want a delicious lunch then look no further you have found a hidden culinary masterpiece. This sandwich shop managed to get it right. I ordered some deviled eggs and got the Cardiac Kid (a reference to "Elvis" and it is a banana and peanut butter sandwich. The price is great, and the ingredients are fresher than most other sandwich places (think the opposite of chains like Quiznos and Subway). It may be a bit pricier but in the end your taste buds will thank you for the orgasm you gave them.
Went there before an indian's game. Their employee was very polite and friendly. He definitely made our experience memorable. A little tiny inside but we found space for our group of 6 to eat. Has a great atmosphere and great food! Tried the Blazin River and would definitely order it again.
Really excellent sandwiches, if you're looking for delicious lunch downtown this is your place. Thankfully they're open on Saturday 12-4pm now so even those that don't work downtown can get a 'West-sider' or 'classic pickle'.
I'm a transplanted Cleveland native, but am often back in town for various reasons. I am sad that I never found this place before I moved away. My wife and I make sure to make a point of getting downtown for lunch every time we're in town so that we can make it to the CLE Pickle. We are heading up there this weekend for a wedding, and already have plans to stop by Friday afternoon for lunch. They are by far my favorite sandwiches and I wish you could come to Kentucky and make the Louisville Pickle! See you soon!
Really enjoyed the sandwiches and the staff was friendly and funny.
$10 does seem like a lot for a sandwich but you don’t leave hungry.
Would have got 5 stars if you got a pickle on the side.
The sandwiches here are great. They are quite large and have plenty of meat and condiments. They are a bit pricey at about $10 a piece but they are well worth it.
CLEVELAND PICKLE, YOU'RE THE BEST. And fear not, fellow pickle-haters: You need not love this shop's signature food to love this shop's food. Anything made with pickles can be made without pickles, & some of the ingredients that include "pickle" in the name are not, in fact, pickles, but rather cleverly disguised names for certain sauces, relishes, etc. The staff is friendly & happy to help you work through the menu to figure out what you'll like best, even providing a menu that has its top three bestsellers highlighted.
I'm a big fan of the Payne Avenue Panini - though I'd call it a "hot sub" before I'd call it a panini - which features Asian-inspired flavors: pork meatballs, radish relish, cilantro, carrots, adobo sauce, lime.... HEAVEN. Also, it's enormous - as I gather all their sandwiches are - so it'll either keep you full or feed you for two meals. Their sandwiches are pretty messy, so frankly, they're better eaten in than taken to go, but whatever you decide, you're probably going to leave happy.
Love sandwiches and love pickles, so what's not to love. Plus they do a hard hat construction worker special 5 days a week! Great Cleveland sandwich joint!
Had the east coaster...I'm not really a BLT kind of guy but man! I'm not sure many other sandwhich shops I've been to around the nation can even compete with how delicious this was! 5 stars no holds barred!
