The smell from bakery the bakery outside on the sidewalk is intoxicatingly delicious! This was my first visit and will be back for sure- the whipped cream is what I imaging a cloud would taste like ❤️
Was in Cleveland for the weekend and stopped by on the way out of town to pick up some treats on a recommendation from a local. Wow! You can tell they do things the old-fashioned way and don’t cut corners. Real butter, real cream, no weird additives. No powder mixes here. The Napoleons are rightfully famous. We tried the chocolate and it was excellent. Light, creamy, flaky. Probably the best one I’ve ever eaten. The apple linzer was also excellent and full of tart apple flavor, with a very tender crust. Highly recommend!
Food was incredible. Service was on another level as the bakers helped pick out some traditional and delicious pastry’s. Would 100 percent recommend.
Wow! Cremes could really be a hit or miss, but this was the best tasting I have ever had. Should have bought more. Will definitely be making a stop here anytime I am driving to or by Cleveland.
The thing about Farkas is that the napoleons made by Mike and his team are consistently wonderful any time of year.
I could eat a whole box of these myself, they are not too sweet, they are light, and the creme between the puff pastry and custard is just heavenly. The chocolate one is so chocolatey and delicious, too! In the fall, they even have a pumpkin variation.
If you're looking for a new dessert to try, look no further. Farkas is what you want, I PROMISE! Try the amazing Raspberry/Hazelnut Linzer bar, Gerbeaud, and the nut roll which is fabulous alongside a coffee. When I tell you I can eat all of them by myself and would happily do so every day forever, I mean it.

Everyone should try their wonderful Dobos torte. It was incredible. The buttercream is perfect. The cake layers are just right. I don't usually like marzipan but it was delicate and complimented the other flavors nicely. I will say that I'll ask for no sprinkles when I order it again. They're fine, but it's like gilding a lily. It doesn't need anything extra because it is just wonderful. Other cakes are wistfully jealous of this cake.
Pumpkin napoleons are back! Don't miss out. But if you do, there are still staple flavors that can't be beat. Best bakery in Cleveland with a great selection of pastries.
We ordered their specialty - the vanilla Napoleons - and they were delicious. In addition to the pastries and friendly service, the best part is that this bakery is intentionally PEANUT-FREE! They do have various other nuts, but if that's not an issue for you, this place is a great find. As someone with a peanut allergy, I'm always so excited to add another safe place to the list - especially a bakery!
Farkas is clearly a staple of the Ohio City community, and for good reason. The pastries are perfect, the owner is really kind, and I am absolutely planning to go back as soon as possible. Thank you!!
Great experience here! Generous and fun staff (Mike). Love the Hungarian pastries. Everyone raves about the napoleons, but don't forget the poppy seed rolls! WSM is great, but I will also make a stop here too whenever I am in the area. :)
I love Farkas Pastry Shoppe, the Mocha Torte and Hazelnut Tortes are the best you can get in NE Ohio.
