I went to Venero's just 30 minutes ago but I'm so pleased I had to comment now. I ordered the Greek Salad n garlic knots and I can't say enough about both! Excellent. With the homemade Italian dressing, best I've had in probably forever! The young man at the front counter was so courteous, nice and fast. He was amazing. Try it and you'll agree.
Volare, Cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh... Any ethnic food can be transcendent, transporting you back to a simpler time when an elder relative cooked and spoke of the Olde World and where your Family originated. The autheticity of recipes, not changed by time are the closest any of us will get to time travel. Enjoying delicious, wholesome foods, that were enjoyed by your ancestors, is a true nexus and connection with your own past and give hope for the future. With that lengthy intro being said, the meatballs I enjoyed today at Venero's Pizzeria, made me think my Grandmother was in the kitchen waiting to ask me if I had been eating enough (it's an Italian thing)?! It has been years since I slid into a booth at this gem of a restaurant. And, it is our gastronomic imperative to protect and support restaurants like Venero's Pizzeria. So, stop in grab some fried ravioli and listen to the music. Molto Bene!!!
We arrived about an hour before they closed, but our food was exceptionally good! My family and I were surprised and amazed at how good the food was and how fresh. Our waitress was very quick, through, and friendly.
So we used their venue that is next door to the pizza shop. It was for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. We are from out of town and the process was very easy and they delivered in many key areas. The food choices were great, the food was delicious, the venue was clean, communication was great, the staff was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. Many of the locals that were part of the wedding party didn't even know the venue even existed which seems crazy considering what a great space and value it provides. If you are looking to plan a party or family reunion or company Christmas party this is a great option.
Restaurant is phenomenal! My waitress was extremely nice and helpful! This place has the absolute best calamari I've EVER HAD! Good size, plentiful, and fried to perfection. Garlic knots are a great size, soft, and goes well with the marinara. If you get a large pizza, it's huge lol. I love it because I enjoy having lots of leftovers . Pizza is really yummy as well. I got the Jimmy V and Extreme pizza. I would have loved to substitute one of the ingredients for another (leave off the standard bacon and get green olives instead). But there's no substitutions. So I left off the bacon and for an additional charge had green olives. That part I wish they'd change.
My parents live in Garner and we ALWAYS go to Venero's when I'm In town. Great food and service with affordable prices. They have a consistent staff who get to know their customers and often know what we want before we ask. I highly recommend Venero's!
The food here is consistent great. They are reasonably priced and the service is always good. I recommend this restaurant to anyone. I rated it four stars because the noise is pretty loud sometimes.
First experience at this restaurant and my family and I had a very pleasant experience. Came in on a Friday evening, the wait time was only 10 minutes. The place was definitely a little busy, but our waitress was nice and accommodating . The pizza tasted great and just like new york, the calamari was fresh and not overcooked, garlic knots were soft and buttery, the chicken marsala also tasted amazing. The top shelf margarita was great. Definitely a hidden gem in Clayton.
The food is absolutely fabulous. I've lived in the area for over 12 years, and just recently discovered this Restaurant.

9/25/2022 Update Chicken Alfredo is incredible...with angel hair. The garlic knots are heavy with butter and delicious.
My With ordered thr lasagna and loved it.
But I have yo say they have the best calamari I have ever had cooked to perfection, breading is crisp and calamari is tender.
We drove from Raleigh right on the Cary border for lunch today and was well worth it. The Service was spot on as well.
