Taco Casa

Pleasantly surprised, a relatively small menu but I got the taco salad and really enjoyed it! Pay attention to the ingredients they use buttermilk ranch in place of sour cream but they are happy to change it for you upon request. They put a yummy cheese sauce on the enchiladas that my SO got which was also pretty tasty. Overall I'd go back to try more, maybe get the tuna boat I've heard about or try something with the ranch on it instead of sour cream.

If you want a good Taco Salad this is the place to get one. Seasoned ground beef on a bed of iceberg lettuce cover in onions, tomatoes and cheese and dresses in store made ranch... Yummm. It comes with chips. My only complaint with this restaraunt is the salsa in the self-serve pump container in the lobby. This is not Salsa. I'm not sure what it is. It has no flavor, no heat no seasoning. Save your Taco Bell packets. The service is friendly and efficient but you can expect wait so don't be in a hurry.

I've been going to Taco Casa off and on for 35 years. They are always uniform in service and quality. This was my first visit to this location and I wasn't particularly impressed. It didn't feel clean or polished like the Montgomery location. I dinged it one star because the tuba boat supreme I love tasted really, really fishy. They stopped using all white albacore and either went to a cheap supplier as the tuna was dark...to dark, so either the tuna was a little long in the tooth or they are using a lower or not all white tuna to increase their margin. The 2 staff members were also a bit rough and their conversation a little inappropriate for a restaurant given I could hear every word...4 feet away across the counter. So you ask why 4 stars for a not really great review. Number one they have been mostly great for 35 years at virtually all the locations I've been to over the years. One not real good meal at this location, which I would not recommend does not erase the overall great meals at all the other locations over many years as a loyal customer. I'll go back to a different location and hope it was just a one off poor meal.

Very nice young lady promptly took my order. She was friendly and made my order quickly knowing that people coming in for lunch need to get back to work. The owner was there and rang me out. He was also friendly and it was a smooth transaction and good experience. I would talk about their food but everyone knows how good the taco salad is already bc this is only 1 of 4 locations. I was just commenting on the good customer service.

LOVE the hard tacos (minus canned tomatoes please) ...borderline addicted. Totally old-skool!!! I give 5 stars due to that one item and the old-skool "extra" hot sauce. Everything else I've had was microwaved and not to my taste. 3 hard tacos and a small drink on Sunday for < 5 bucks. I love Mazunte and Nada and El Trio, but these tacos are an American Treat!
