I ordered the Motherboard online (website is super easy to navigate) for my wife and I to share for our anniversary. I ordered two charcuterie trays for back to back gatherings and they were delicious! They provide the perfect portions and don't skimp on anything. I love that they will bring your order out to the car if you request it. Overall if you're in search for a great charcuterie board for an event at a fair price, this is your place!

Really wonderful neighborhood spot! The owners take special care to curate the perfect cheese selection (that they make in-house) and wines which will all pair perfectly with anything you choose on the menu.
The ambiance feel more like a cafeteria than a fancy wine and cheese bar, but I love it.
Big tables are great for groups and you can see the cheese room where all the magic happens. Highly recommend!

I really had a good time here. The bar atmosphere was great; there was a good beer selection, and these guys really know cheese - they make lots of it here and it is fantastic. Urban Stead is an easy walk from Madison Road, located on Woodburn (behind Saint Francis DeSales) and there is plenty of safe, free parking behind.
Oh ya - the cheese curds are phenomenal.

I had an incredible experience at Urban Stead Cheese tonight. I ordered a cheese & meat board (meant for 2, but i devoured it all) with a couple cocktails. The staff was super friendly & knowledgeable about the variety cheeses. My favorite is still their Award Winning Cheddar. The Gouda & Quark with honey are a close second. What's not to love there? The atmosphere was inviting, quick service, friendly to hosting our group of 20-25 women for an after hours gathering. It's also really cool to see the cheese being produced on-site. I highly recommend them!

First of all, the cheese is delicious.
We went on New Year’s Eve late afternoon. They weren’t busy and we were helped right away. The first two employees were amazing, knowledgeable, friendly, and the free samples helped us make our selections with more confidence. They lose a star for the third person who insinuated themselves into the process with a rudeness and a haughtiness that was off-putting. She started embarrassingly bossing and micromanaging the first two in a way that made me think she was a manager or owner. I hope she was just having an off day because, otherwise, it would have been a five star experience.

Incredible staff and great addition to the Walnut Hills/Evanston area. Great place to have a drink, eat some locally made cheese (how cool is that) and even take cheese and other locally made products home. Can't wait to see what else the owners have in store for the shop.

OMG! The baked camembert with walnuts, honey, thyme and port is a indulgent perfect combination with crostini and even better gluten-free on apples they include. They also have gluten-free crackers. I also love the tangy quark with honey and the flavorful Street Ched which is award-winning. The delicious cocktails will surprise you! I just love visiting this place when the tasting room is open Friday and Saturday evenings! It's great for a date night or intimate gathering with a few friends. Don't forget, there is free parking in the back.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! We came in for a small baby shower/birthday dinner and the owners went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We ordered the "Mother Board", pimento cheese, and the pretzel/beer cheese combo. Everything was delicious. The owner is clearly knows what she's doing. She brought over the mother board and explained everything and suggested combos/answered all of our questions. We ordered a few bottles of wine which were fairly priced. We forgot a lighter and cake cutting/serving tools and they were brought right over.
The food is amazing. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and personable. I will definitely be back!

Friendly staff with a great alcohol selection that isn’t over priced! We had the cheese curds and beer cheese with a pretzel, yum! My first time having cheese curds, I’ll probably have some again. Will be back to buy the beer cheese and shrub!

I am a man who eats a lot of cheese. A few months back, I moved into a new apartment and noticed a building across the street that had “street ched” painted on the storefront. I love puns. During my recreational runs throughout the neighborhood I would peek in the window to see what exactly this place had to offer. It was still being built during this time and I was waiting to check it out. Well, I finally got to try it out the other day and it was awesome! Some really, really good stuff and the local craft brews pair perfectly.

Great atmosphere and local beers and most food is made there including the cheesecake and pimento. Outstanding!!!! You can see where the cheeses are aging and many more types coming soon. There is also a tv in the corner by the bar so my husband can enjoy his football while I enjoy wines and cheeses and bread.
