Ramen Miyako

Great restaurant. Very good homemade karage curry from chicken broth base. Ramen was also very tasty - only 4/5 stars because I’ve had ramen that was slightly better somewhere else but this is already really good ramen on any scale. Service was the highlight. Waitress had the most beautiful smile and was so kind. Let me stick my origami crane to their wall :) Look for the green one that says “Hello from Vancouver”

Highly recommended it. It is the only true Japanese service/hospitality provider. Not to mention you will have a great service, ramen made by an expert. The owner/Chef has done the very best he could in every details. Staffs are very friendly and professional. I felt I was in Japan and truly blessed with 職人(shokunin) craftmanship. Every details is nailed and managed to a perfection. Not everyday you will be have such a dedicated host. Thank you very much . Good taste. Nice broth. The ramen noodle is very good. Cant believe this shop is revamped and improved after the change of ownership. Please support them!

Poked my nose by my hair dressers and saw a new ramen place open. I had the spicy ramen which was not spicy but super tasty. The broth was very umami and the noodles perfectly made and cooked. They give you a free upgrade to large which was a very nice touch. The staff were beautiful, very polite and welcoming. Made a recommendation to try the hot sake which was quite good. Great value for money, and the food was phenomal, I hope this place takes off and becomes the go to ramen shop in chch. What a perfect meal on a nice cold rainy wintery night

A very nice bowl of chicken broth ramen! We are Asian and tried a lot of ramen places in different Asia countries including Japan. And the quality of the ramen here exceeded our expectations! We didn’t expect there would be such a good quality of ramen here in Christchurch. The chicken broth is not the rich flavorful style, instead it’s quite light, which we ended up finished drinking the whole bowl. The noodles were al dante , and the star was definitely the cha siu. It was torched and the fatty and just melted in our mouths. They offered free upgrade to large too for those who have larger appetite. Overall quite authentic and tasty ramen.

Amazing customer service and good ramen. We ordered the Miso ramen and the Nagoya ramen with a side of tempura. The children had fried gyoza, karaage chicken and chasu on rice. Parents ordered the mushroom salad and katsu curry. All dishes were delicious. For dessert we had their hoji sorbet. It was our first time trying this dessert. Very refreshing, cold and tasty. We will be back the next time we visit Christchurch! Gochisousamadeshita!
