A lovely place to eat, drink coffee, or work. Ethiopian food and vegetarian options. Free parking available in the neighborhood. Lots of windows with natural light. Friendly staff. A definite recommendation!
Delicious coffee, great American and Ethiopian food, including really good breakfast selections, good pastries. The family that works here is the best-- they always make us feel welcome, and are such nice and wonderful people, so you always get a homey touch. I know people who love this place so much they travel far out of their way to come here.
nice place, especially when you order the banana 🍌 nut 🥜-ettla CRAPES! those things taste so good when you wash them down with a cup ☕️ of Ethiopian 🇪🇹 java
A nice cafe. Coffee is well above average. Good inside and outside seating. Plenty of power outlets. I can't account for the complaint about cleanliness since the place has always been very clean when I've visited.
Food is good with both standard and Ethiopian options that are worth trying.
Wifi can very slow and stop completely, even when cafe has few customers - not sure why. Music can be too loud when the cafe is crowded, a problem at too many cafes.
As I type this, the regular daytime server is Cassie. She is friendly, efficient and as good a waitress as you'll find anywhere.
Owned by an Ethiopian couple, this is one of my favorite places. Nothing fancy but I really like the hospitality and quiet space. They also have some unique Ethiopian food wraps, which are awesome! My only thing, their pastries, they look like they were bought at Jewel's so not my thing... other than that, great place!
Love this place. It's like going to your best friend's for coffee. It's cozy, warm, and inviting. Yudit, the owner, knows everyone by first name, and truly cares about her community. The coffee is amazing. They serve an array of Ethiopian and standard American meals. Lots of outdoor seating. It's our go to Sunday morning coffee.
The coffee, Ethiopian food, and sweets available are delicious and very fairly priced. Vegan and gluten free options, which is especially nice. The owners are sweet and entirely accommodating. Definitely a homey atmosphere and very casual/relaxed. One of my new favorites.
The people who own this place are independent business people from Africa. They serve authentic Ethiopian food that is just TO DIE FOR.They make a variety of coffee drinks and authentic African tea drinks and their quality is superb.
They are always courteous and their service is good, but not instantaneous. They make everything fresh so be patient. It is worth it. Coffee in a hurry anytime.
To dine in you may have to park a few blocks away. It is Rogers Park! Again, this place is worth it
This is one nice place to meet people and have a good cup of coffee and a chocolate chip cookie that is out of this world! The prices are really reasonable in here and the people that work here are real nice. And this afternoon there were a lot of people in enjoying themselves. The place is nice and full and busy. And it's convenient to the 147 Outer Drive express bus. The 155 Devon Avenue bus stops here. It's blocks from Lake Michigan. You're about 3 blocks north of the Loyola Red Line stop. There's a lot of other little restaurants around here. But this place is a happening place and I haven't been here in a while and it's still just as good or even better.
My absolute favorite coffee shop.... EVER! Great customer service, great coffee and tea, and great food. Most importantly, the staff make sure the place is kept CLEAN. The woman who runs it also is extremely pleasant and takes the time to get to know her customers. She was sure to ask if I lived in the area (which I do but I had never been) and make small talk as she has never seen my face before which I thought was a nice touch. I've been back 4x since and will definitely be going back again.
