Excellence in every way along with wonderful customer care and huge variety of products make it now my favorite seafood place in Chicago. They offer many types of fish smoked, big selection of fish, even Bar Harbor brand chowders. Don’t look any further, come shop local in this family owned place. Thank you 🌲

Finally visited Hagen's, and I can say there's a reason they've been in business so long! I ordered the fried fish sandwich, "lightly fried to show off the fish," as a regular in line suggested. The staff was very friendly, and I was able to choose my type of fish from the case. All the fish are labelled with origin, and farm or wild caught, so I chose a local walleye. The sandwich was simple, but perfectly cooked, and tasted as good as it looked! There are tables out front so you can enjoy your food while it's hot.

A little pricey but well worth it. This was honestly some of the best seafood I've had in my life , the seafood salad was full of crab / shrimp meat and seasoned to perfection with a hint of smoke flavor. The sandwich was extremely fresh tasting and the tarter sauce was perfect, I'll definitely be back.

NEIGHBORHOOD SEAFOOD FIND…YUM!!! Decades long, family-owned Hagen’s is good eating. I was impressed by the variety of seafood, fresh & frozen, available. Beware, the fish smell is every present. One drawback, but hey, it’s seafood. Prepared to order, which is nice! The food was great! I will be returning for a fried shrimp 🍤 dinner when needed! Everything is served a la carte. No dinner combos here.

I discovered this absolute gem of a spot by happenstance due to occasionally working in the area. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They have a large variety of sauces, canned goods, crackers, etc. (basically whatever you could possibly want to go with a seafood meal). Behind the counter, they also have an amazing variety of fresh seafood, in-house smoked fish, and salads. But the star of the show, for me, is their takeout menu. I've had the shrimp po boy, the crab cake, and fried clam strips - all of which were excellent. The prices are great too. The last time I was there, I was craving calamari but also wanted a sandwich. I asked if they could substitute calamari for the shrimp in the po boy. The lady behind the counter was super nice and accommodating, as they always are there. Best seafood sandwich of any kind that I've ever had in my life! 10/10 would reccomend to anyone. We need to preserve these small neighborhood spots at all costs before there's nothing left but Jewel, Marianos, and Whole Foods on every corner. Great food, great service, great people.
