Went downstairs to the restaurant for crab legs for my son's birthday. Sat at the bar, and had a huge portion of crab. Not inexpensive, but a very generous portion with fries.

Stopped into Matisse Tavern & Grill for a drink before another dinner reservation. We were short on time but that was no issue for our bartender! Along with speed of service, our drinks were incredible. Highly recommend their martini menu ESPECIALLY the Kucumber Kiss

Stopped in for late night eats and drinks. Welcoming atmosphere. Charlie was our bartender and he was awesome. He was knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Conversing with him was refreshing as he was attentive to our needs. The drinks Charlie made were dranking…lol! The El Niño was the best and spiciest drink I have encountered to date!’ The mushroom quesadilla was good among with the included condiments. I had the black bean burger and it just needs a condiment/sauce to kill the heaviness/dry taste of the pretzel bun and black beans. My partner had I think name of burger was the Wild Horse. He killed that burger as he stated it was cooked to perfection and condiments were all delicious.

Overall an okay experience here. Environment is not all that big especially if it's packed. Some tables are to close to each other and they tried seating us in front of the washrooms (Not very pleasant smell when your eating). Street parking is not easy to find since they don't have their own parking. Environment is clean but not a lot of space. They do have a bar. Service was great. Food was tasty. Prices are fair. Overall not a bad experience.

Great ambiance, the staff was great and the food was a pleasant surprise. Had the garlic parm wings to start which were cooked excellent and the right amount of garlic/parm. Had the surf and turf and beef tenderloin. The surf and turf sauce was great and the demi glaze on the tenderloin was spectacular. I will definitely visit again next time I'm in Chicago!

Recently visited during restaurant week for amazing special. The restaurant is a cozy dining area with a decent sized bar. We decided to eat here for our anniversary. It was a fantastic ddecision. I order the surf & turf, calamari, and cheese and my GF order the oven roasted salmon with pull pork and creme brulee.. Everything was cooked to perfection and service was great. Will come again definitely.

Where do I start?! I’m almost always pissed but last night we went here after an AA meeting and let me tell you what a great place it is!! Starting off with the barkeep I believe his name was Scot. No it wasn’t it was Luke. He was not only handsome but such a kind young fellow. He told us stories of his childhood while keeping all the other customers happy with full drinks. Then guy next to us said “Luke is a standup guy and we just love his personality.” I said that’s cool. We got the calamari and it did not disappoint. I was hoping they had hot dogs but they didn’t. I had 3 beers and bought a round for the bar. My husband Kevin had 2 cokes. I left happy and not pissed at all. We’ll probably go back one day.

Went here at 11pm on a Sunday (New Years day) as it was the only place around open. They have a large beer selection and food options. Seating looks limited, but obviously was not full due to time. Good music, good vibes, good service. No complaints here! My bf said the burning house burger was the perfect spice level. I had a classic grilled chicken avacado sandwich that was top-notch. Definitely recommend the pretzel bread! A side was included and the fries were a solid choice.

It was my first time going to Matisse Tavern and the service was just great!! Super friendly staff, great drinks options. For food we had the quesadilla and the burger and they were both really good. Cute and cozy ambiance, definitely recommend it for a date or just if you wanna grab something to eat.
