Spotted this place on my way out this morning and decided to grab some dinner from them. The sandwich was absolutely delicious, and prepared very quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful too. They have a great selection of wine, including small bottles, and a selection of beers and a few bottles of spirits. I'm sure I'll go back at one point on this trip, just to try out one of their cheese boards! Edit: I went back for a Cheese plate.... It was delicious!

Traditional artisan cheese and meat store serving delicious sandwiches and salads made with the great ingredients they sell! A good option for those seeking for an alternative lunch place in the Loop. Their seasonal goat cheese and jamon melt was amazing!

Cute little store, unique for its location. I did the build-your-own sandwich. Shame on me. $17 later I ended up with a super tasty deli sandwich. But seventeen dollars?? The base (bread, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato onion) is $5. I chose jamon Serrano and a salami, each at $4. Gooey d'affinois cheese: $3. Tapenade: $1. I suppose they can get away with this downtown, but it felt so wrong. The receipt showed that I was charged for 0.27 pounds of meat, and it's pretty unlikely that it contained that much (see pic). Delicious sandwich, but egregious prices.

Higher end sandwich shop, also sells lots of products to go, from meats cheese and breads to wine and beer, not a whole lot of space to sit, most people get stuff to go, I had the yelp check in sandwich, and it was very good, it can get crowded and orders might take a while so just be prepared for that, easy to get to, right off the L lake stops, plus it has an olive bar

Got a turkey sandwich and spicy ginger soda. The food was very high quality and delicious. The staff was extremely welcoming and helped us with any questions we had. Really cool spot! Just wish they had some more inside seating. Definitely check it out!

Great for picking up a sandwich to go... If you want to eat in, there's just a couple tiny tables, and not much selection for drinks. Also you can't drink alcohol in the store (though they sell wine and beer). Sandwiches are delicious! I like the wheat bread as it's softer.

AMAZING!! The prosciutto fig sandwich is to die for and I am obsessed with their pickle flavored chips! This place is also great if you want to pick up cheese and spreads for a party. The staff is more the helpful, offering samples as much as you would like! They also lend great advice for combinations that are sure to wow friends or party guests.

Pastoral has very filling and fresh sandwiches and salads! My favorite sandwiches are all the turkey ones - they use real turkey slices (and they are pretty thick slices)! The sandwiches usually have a delightfully creamy sauce and/or a light cheese. All the ingredients taste like they came from your own organic garden! Absolutely worth the price (the sandwiches range from ~$7-$11 each)! Pros: - quality ingredients - large cheese selection Cons: - long wait (during peak hours) to order and get food - few seats indoors

Amazing sandwiches. Always my top choice in the loop. A little pricy and the service is kinda weak at times, but that's mostly due to the large lunch rush. Call in your order to avoid the wait. I love the club nuovo. Also, the staff is very knowledgeable about the products if you have questions about wine, cheese, etc.

Gotta try the pig and fig sandwich! This plage helped me change the way I think about deli's. For me, it provides a nice counterpoint to Kaufman's. The staff is also usually frie, but not overly so. Don't hit them at the end of the day, though. Sandwich service ends an hour before closing.
