This was a culinary experience with awesome decor and excellent food. Our waiter Jose was the best ! Ask for him when you come. I recommend the Faroe Island Salmon. Even the bathrooms were gorgeous
Dropped in without booking tonight, warmly welcomed. We had one of the best meals since arriving in the US. As visitors from Australia we were very impressed with the wait staff and commend everyone for the meal and attention.
Don’t skip out on this place, and definitely don’t skip out on the chicken. Whoever is making the decisions back there is doing something very right. The garlic mashed potatoes were immaculate—smooth, creamy, flavorful, and buttery. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection, with juices oozing out. The flavor was spot on and the pan sauce complimented the chicken wonderfully. Only thing is the broccoli rabe was incredibly bitter, nearly inedible, so I suggest swapping out that vegetable. The tomato basil soup was to die for, and if you get the martini, ask for blue cheese olives, because those olives were amazing. Seriously, this place is legit! They even had gluten free pasta for my husband. The chef back there KNOWS what they’re doing. Incredible food. And I’m definitely a food snob. Bravo!
I went here for dinner twice while staying next door at the hotel. Both meals were excellent in terms of quality, portions and flavor. I was staying at the hotel for the Chicago Marathon and having an Italian restaurant next door was just perfect! The staff was wonderful, making great small talk, learning more about me since I was visiting and giving great recommendations of things to do around the hotel area. They had a special "carb load" menu for the night before the Marathon which just showed me how much they cared about the visitors and what was needed. This will be my place to go whenever I come back for the marathon or any other activity in Chicago!
New owners & new chef and oh my, amazing food! The staff is on point and the atmosphere is luxurious without feeling too stuffy. They are currently doing breakfast, lunch, and brunch on the weekends, so looking forward to seeing what this chef brings to the table once they get back to doing dinners.
This restaurant underneath the Allegro Royal Sonesta Hotel Chicago Loop (there are two hotels) opened recently. The food was very good. Server knew their stuff but talked a bit too much.
Great experience. The staff was awesome. The atmosphere was perfect for date night before going to the theater. The food was exceptional. I definitely recommend pasta. It was light and delicious. Dessert stole the show.
Had simple eggs (sunny side up) and multi-grain toast for breakfast. In the 3 days I spent in Chicago this was the ONLY restaurant that offered jelly and multi-grain toast as an option. This was the BEST breakfast I had in Chicago. It reminded me of Sunday morning as a child when my parents would make pancakes and eggs. It brought me home. A small blessing in the heart of the city.
Pretty nice Italian restaurant right next to the Cadillac Palace Theater. A little bit stuffy, older vibe. The food was good. The salmon and the halibut were perfectly cooked. Well balanced good cocktails. Didn't enjoy the wine we ordered but that's obviously not their fault. Lots of people go to dinner here right before going to the theater. Charcuterie was good with a decent assortment of meats and cheeses. Frito misto was pretty good as well. The Caeser salad was delicious. I had the salmon dish with fregola sarda, asparagus, and golden beet volute. Everything was seasoned well and cooked nicely. Our server was friendly and helpful.
I loved the atmosphere here it definitely had a classic vibe. The space was well lit and clean. Service was attentive and kind. I had the frittata and earl grey tea. (Total was a bit over 25 USD without tip) I felt that this price was a little bit steep for a downtown breakfast spot but you can't deny that it has an incredible location. My server Claudia was amazing and I appreciate the customer service training here. The bar was well stocked with the usual favorites and menu was simple and easy to read.
Definitely recommend checking it out!
Great service, good location and an original menu for an Italian restaurant. The only problem that we encountered is that some of their dishes that were not listed as spicy very quite spicy. Other than that, a good place for a special dinner, very close to most theaters that are downtown.
Not bad at all! Food was delicious, service was great. It was a gorgeous day to take a stroll and stop for Lunch!! The decor is such a vibe. Love that!
