Date night with the hubby was fantastic. The steak tartare was phenomenal and the pork was great too. Limited cocktail menu. Our waiter was nice and the hostess was very sweet finding us a table upstairs. Very romantic, low lighting and clean bathrooms.
Maude’s is my go to restaurant when I’m nostalgic of France. My last visit was disappointing as the food didn’t taste as good as it did before. Our chicken came to our table cold, salmon tartare didn’t taste good. I will give it another try soon!
Update: I went back with my team and I was blown away! Whatever change they have made, it’s working! Everyone was impressed
Normally, I'd go on and on...however, for purposes of this review, I can only surrender and defer to my photos. Maude's service (much Love and thanks❤to Levi!!!), ambiance (upstairs, noir et noir🖤) and cuisine speak far better than my mere words ever could. Bon appetit!!!😘
Intimate, but not too dark, and excellent food prep! Have not had a bad bite! And the servers know what goes with what. Give them a challenge, tell what you like, and see what is offered. All is delicious! And the cocktails, stellar! Pop upstairs for a real comfy evening.
Maude's Liquor Bar is a traditional French member of the nationally acclaimed Hogsalt Hospitality Group. Other restaurants in the group include Au Cheval, Bavette's, Gilt Bar, Green Street Smoked Meats, and The Doughnut Vault. Maude’s has a good selection of interesting cocktails at reasonable prices. It is definitely worth a visit. The bar had a great vibe and was packed with people. Everything from the ambiance and music to the service and cocktails was on point. Their vast range of brands and types of cocktails/beers has something for everyone. Must try the French Onion Fondue. Please check out the pictures associated with this review.
The food was good and the portions are pretty sizable! The Lion’s Tail beverage was prefect!
We waited a while for our check but overall still a good experience and will be back.
Maude's is a dark, cozy restaurant that isn't overly trendy with a condensed menu of French and "Almost French" dishes. The escargot was excellent and the burger and fries were fantastic. For those that don't like sitting right next to their fellow diners, this may not be the restaurant for you. Tables are quite close and there's no avoiding hearing other tables' conversation (not necessarily a negative, but worth noting).
We had a wonderful evening at Maude's Liquor Bar thanks to Kira and Todd's excellent customer service, friendliness and genuine caring, along with the rest of the staff! The food was also insanely amazing- we had the pork with cheese and the garlic chicken and Brussels sprouts and we were so grateful we got to leave with some leftovers to re-enjoy the meal the next day! The atmosphere is chill and fun, but also fancy in a calm way! Great music too- lots of Fleet Foxes! Can't wait to get back!
The staff is so friendly. The food pairings are so delicious. Stopped by today for brunch and it hit the spot. Outdoor seating is perfect ☺
Great, low key Frenchie in the West Loop. Great cocktails, oysters and modern takes on French bistro food. Service is friendly and refreshingly unpretentious for this neighborhood. Wine list is brief but well chosen. Creme brulee was good, but the coffee even better.
