I had a beautiful Bridal Shower at Smokehouse 52 BBQ.The owner and staff were absolutely wonderful and took such good care of me and my guests! The food was delicious and everyone raved over what they ordered. My aunt ended up buying a basket of their BBQ sauce because she loved it so much.
Thank you 52 BBQ for making me feel special on my day and for going above and beyond at my bridal shower.
The place to go when you want each portion of food on your plate to hang around on your palate and savor with your taste buds the euphoria of authentic BBQ! I had the "choose any two" BBQ options.. I chose pulled pork and brisket. My sides were sweet potato fries and the pit beans. Every bite of every portion was a "mmmmoment". I enjoyed the the bloody Mary and discovered the Horseradish infused vodka was something Smokehouse 52 distilled from scratch. It was a good Bloody Mary but it deserved a bit more kick to it. This will be a staple in Chelsea, MI I hope for a very long time. Our servers name was Sophia, she was knowledgeable of the menu and if she didn't know the answer she would get one for us.
Great food! My girlfriend and I ate there for our last date day. We got the chips and dip for an appetizer which was delicious. Then we split the pick 2. We picked brisket and ribs with sweet potato wedges and mac and cheese. The meats were so tender and juicy and it was fun getting to sample their 6 different bbq options. The mac and cheese was very creamy and flavorful and the sweet potato wedges were perfect! The server Rhonda was absolutely wonderful and took time to explain the different bbq sauces and suggest another appetizer when the one we wanted wasn't available. Cute restaurant and decorations. Definitely going here again!
What a place...it was hopping, busy but seats could be found.y friend and I met their for dinner. Service was great, did not have to worry about an empty drinking glass, extra napkins or having them bring you extra what ever it was you want. Food arrived hot, looking great and tasted amazing. The picture as you probably noticed was after I had already started to eat because I was starving. I ordered chicken, will have smoked beef or pork the next visit. Portions were okay, would have loved a little more cold slaw instead of all the fries...just my preference.
Went for lunch... Mainstreet mac-n-cheese and BBQ sliders. Great food, decor and even better service! Damián was wonderful! We arrived just a little after opening 11:40 ish and were greeted, seated and waited on promptly, Damián was very friendly and knowledgeable and a pleasure to be served by... the food arrived quickly and was very tasty, reasonably priced and well portioned. We will be back!
Very cool atmosphere. Historic building. Yummy food with big portions. I had the "Enthusiast". Ribs, brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken. A large serving of sweet potato fries were delicious.
PUT THIS PLACE ON YOUR BUCKET LIST! Mouthwatering home cookin at its finest in southern Michigan! When it comes to Celiac Disease, this place is a godsend! Dedicated fryers for their traditional and sweet potato fries and the kitchen staff goes above and beyond to avoid cross contamination! The food itself is oh so delicious! Their sweet potato fries are cut very uniquely, like the size of a traditional steak fry, but cut kind of like a crinkle fry, and cooked to absolute perfection! I could eat a whole plate of those sweet potato fries and call it a full meal + desert! And then the meats! Slow smoked chicken and brisket and pork, oh my! Every single meat and every single sauce is gluten free!
From a gluten filled standpoint, my husband ordered the Pig Mac which is a wild combination of pulled pork, award winning Mac and cheese, and brisket, topped with strips of bacon, somehow contained between two pieces of Texas toast. I took (and have attached) pictures of this beast of a sandwich, but the photos definitely didn't do it justice.
If you've ever seen the Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, I'm convinced Smokehouse 52 needs to be on the show and Guy Fieri would need to do his best "hunch" in order to eat the behemoth of a sandwich known as the Pig Mac!
I can't overstate how wonderful the small town home cooking vibe feels like and how wonderful the food is, especially if you have Celiac Disease and have been deprived of good ol down home cookin! Highly highly highly recommend for everyone! Families, kids, teenagers, couples, date night, you name it, this is the place to go!
Good pulled pork and collard greens, loved the mac n cheese. Be sure to try all the sauces! Pricing is average for BBQ
