Very good. Service is spectacular, but the restaurant gets crazy busy on weekends. Make sure to book Good variety of drinks and sake as well as all Japanese staples: sushi, sashimi, tempura, and salads.

One of the best foodie experiences downtown! Cocktails were unique, fresh, and really sets the vibe. The food presentation for the wagyu was so unique I will tell all my friends about the 500 degree rock it was cooked on! The cuttlefish tempura is a must...filling, different, and excellent flavor! A must try if you're in downtown Charlottesville!

Drinks were excellent from the bar, sushi was spectacular, and the ambiance in the restaurant is really mellow. The just need more servers. The service was very, very slow. My app was on the table before my first drink. I'm still giving 4 stars because they don't deserve anything less, just because of staffing issues.

First time wasn’t sure what To expect. Arrived 9:30pm, found the entrance door tucked into the right side nook of the building adjoin a downstairs restaurant. Up an extended flight of steps, greeted and quickly seated, requested sushi bar location. Spacious, lively music, mix of Jaz & crooners Like Sinatra. Place was busy, up beat social atmosphere, multiple tables seated with small parties and couples. Regular bar was located at opposite end from the sushi bar.
Diverse and rather large selection of items, the drink menu was lengthy with a multitude of options.
Staff was polite and attentive, sitting at the sushi bar allowed for an up close view of the exchange between front of the house and the back. The staff maintained a professional appearance with each other and the guests, even when having to inform that a selection was no longer available.
Yes might be difficult to believe but the meal was even better than it looks. My meal created by Robby. An intense flavorful experience.
Vodka & sprite
Sunomono octopus
Dragon Roll
fresh water eel, tamago, avocado, shiso, kaiware, cucumber
Omakase -Sashimi 10 pieces & Nigiri 10 pieces of Maguro, Zuke Maguro, Chu Toro, Sake, Oh Toro, Sake Toro, Hamachi, Hawaiian Walu, Suzuki & Kanpachi.
Ending with a Spicy Toro roll
chu toro, avo, pickled jalepeño, crunch, spicy sauces, tobiko
I usually order way to much food for one person and being offered a large menu selection I definitely ordered. An unexpected surprise, an additional sushi roll(spicy toro) was placed in front of me. The sushi bar guaranteeing I was not going to leave hungry. I did have a very large meal, never felt rushed, I did wonder what time they were closing but it was not an issue during my late dinner. Bill was $164. The bulk of the bill was the ordering of the Chefs choice and my personal input on Adding in $40tip total for one $204 meal experience. Far less than a dinner at Ruth Chris and much tastier meal experience. The flavor combinations were outstanding.

Delicious sushi & sashimi with some surprisingly good appetizers. The food came out quickly, but the drinks took quite a while and the service was generally slower than I expected. Swanky atmosphere with a very romantic vibe!

Ten was recommended to us by a friend of ours. We immensely enjoyed our food and the ambiance. Be prepared to spend money but the food is so worth it. We will be going back again soon. ❤️❤️

Cuttlefish tempura - 5 stars
Kushiyaki steak - 4 stars
Cucumber sakitini - 4 stars
Omakase, 6-piece - 3 stars
Gyoza appetizer - 1 star
While the atmosphere and service were great, the food is lackluster for the price.
The nigiri missed the mark with the plain, unseasoned rice, and poor texture (falls apart); needs more vinegar and mirin. The gyoza was a complete failure, being drenched in the overly salty soy sauce and having been deep fried. Definitely get the tempura and skewers, and probably try the rolls, you may have better luck there than with the nigiri.

This restaurant was delicious and had plenty of non-fish options for people like me who don't enjoy raw fish. My partner really enjoyed the sashimi and the sake was excellent. A wonderful atmosphere that made for the perfect birthday celebration.
