Great dinner. Beautiful restaurant, used to be a flower shop. Stained glass was very pretty. Had the Duck liver pate, Emu, Clam Chowder and Bread pudding with Butter pecan ice cream. Would order everything but the clam chowder again. It was too bland and thick for my taste, too much flour maybe?. Had a great cocktail. Nice place for a first date.

A gem in the heart of downtown. Fantastically interesting menu (duck confit & foie gras spring rolls? Grilled emu?). The service was prompt, friendly, and helpful. The ambience is quiet and lovely. They cater to allergies and dietary restrictions, and were very good about it. Felt completely comfortable with their handling. By the way, I very much recommend the emu. It's like a red meat, but not as heavy, if that makes any sense... This is a great restaurant for a date or any special occasion.

Visited for my dad's 80th birthday with a cousin. Ambiance was gorgeous! Prices a little high as expected, but for the actual portions, very reasonable. Our waitress was very kind and attentive to us and all of the tables within her sphere, service is a major pet peeve of mine! Got the shrimp and grits meal and it was excellent, just the right amount with a salad and dessert. They also have a great selection of cocktails and wines! Will definitely be back for another occasion!

I had a great experience. Service was excellent and it was a great atmosphere. Our waitress was very attentive. I ordered the grilled Emu. It had good flavor and the sweet potato had a little spice to it. I also had the wedge salad. I would definitely recommend.

Ordered the Fried Calamari & Duck Confit Spring Rolls as an appetizer.. Both were very delicious. We ordered the Short Rib & 14oz Ribeye steak over mashed potatoes. Everything was very tasty! We will definitely come back!

First time here and it did not disappoint! Everything was amazing and so flavorful! I got the wedge salad, the seafood dish that had scallops, shrimp, mussels and white fish in a yummy tomato sauce, and the creme brûlée for dessert. Waitress was a amazing and the ambience in here is great! I was solo but it’s definitely a great spot to go for girls night or a date.

This restaurant automatically had a wonderful feeling to it.. it’s a very romantic place and the lighting makes it all the more nostalgic.. I’ve never been to a restaurant that can not only over exceed my expectations but, manage to make the whole dining experience even greater than expected as well. From the moment we were being seated we were greeted with great service, (we don’t remember our waitresses name! But, she spoke smoothly with a thick accent and told us she was from Cuba! I thought that was cool and she seated us someplace away from the main dining area because the main seating area by the window was taken. (In the reservation notes area, i asked if availed to be seated by the window near the street). I just thought it’d be even more romantic ya’ know? But! It got even better when our waitress told us that we couldn’t be seated there because our night was about to get better. She pointed to an area that was at the top of the restaurant. We looked up and saw a smoothly clothed table with 4 seats surrounding it. My jaw dropped for a second because I hadn’t paid any attention to the fact that there’s a next level to this restaurant, literally! I was excited because the night just kept getting better and better. She led us to a corner that had steps to take you up to the seated area. As we went up the steps the restaurant became more dim with the lighting at the top of the restaurant like a distant light that turns into another romantic scene. The seating up top has a balcony that overlooks the entire restaurant. You can still see through the window by the street and see people walking by on the outside and cars passing. It was amazing, it was a truly breathtaking view. Our service was amazing entirely. Our waitress had taken note of our drinks for the evening and offered us bread with a butter and basil mix. It tasted great and the drinks were great too! The orange peel inside the bourbon was cool and innovative as it was my first time having this drink. The calamari is a must! The scallops were so smooth; and all in all this experience was just beyond amazing. Thank you Bernardin’s for a great experience!

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner last night - excellent service by Lia; relaxing, comfortable with good spacing between tables, a sort of throw back decor style; well priced dishes and wine and a dessert that was practically life changing! Our fish and lamb chop dishes were well balanced flavors and textures. The reason for 4-stars on atmosphere is because there’s not much to absorb and offset noise of patron conversations so it gets a bit loud for my liking. I’m a big fan of quiet romantic meals…

Best duck Pâté I've ever had. We tried several cocktails, and they were all very well balanced and overall amazing. The noise level crept up to an uncomfortable volume due to 2 large parties in such a small space. The chef came to our table to discuss some allergies, and he was very personable and concerned.

If you have a chance to go don't miss out! This is one of my favorite fine dining experiences in Charlotte! I love this place! Some may say service is a lil bit slow but it is well worth the wait. The place is super clean super cozy service is good and staff try so hard to keep everyone happy even when they're stretched thin. I've tried a little bit of everything over the years and it's ALL AMAZING! On our last visit we got drinks while waiting for them to prep our table. Then got a few appetizers and ended up sharing some main dishes so we would have room for dessert as well. We ended up trying the escargot, goat cheese, foie gras, duck, emu, kangaroo, surf & turf. We got both cobblers and the creme brulee, as well as a great recommendation for a bottle of wine that paired well with all our dishes. Everything was amazing! Overall this was a great experience and can't wait to go back again. Hoping they bring back the marrow soon.
