Excellent dining experience. The host very happily gave me a window-side table when I asked for it. Brad, the waiter, was very attentive and happily answered any questions. The food was nicely presented and tasted wonderfully.
I have been a regular customer for years and this place is a definite staple for foodies in Charlotte! I would highly recommend this place, you can almost order anything on the menu and expect to love it. The fried chicken is amazing! (which you would think who recommends fried chicken?!?!) It isn't greasy at all or like any other fried chicken you have had! The warm goat cheese salad is another must! Their food is well executed, made with local ingredients and very fresh! I regularly get the fish special....amazing. The shrimp and grits are always on point

Excellent! Romantic atmosphere, great food, and top notch service! We ordered the raw oysters, a warm goat cheese salad, and the signature fried chicken with gravy and mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend!
Food was amazinggg. SO and I split the steamed oyster appetizer, both got the goat cheese salad, and I had the beef fillet and he had the venison entrée. Everything was simply delicious, especially the steak. Done medium well, seriously the best steak I've ever had. We both ate well past being full, it was just too good to leave anything behind.
Wine list was extensive and cocktails were made good and strong. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars was there was some obvious damage to a few areas of the walls that deff hurt the overall atmosphere. Somewhere as upscale as this should be able to keep a pristine interior finish. I would absolutely go back.
My fiancé and I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. He surprised me with a birthday dinner and very excited to try their fried chicken, named Charlotte's best friend. We ordered the fried chicken and the pork chop. Both amazingly delicious! Definitely very happy! Overall rate. The waiters even went above and beyond with birthday confetti waiting at our table!
Visited during the Winter Restaurant Week and the menu was very good. I had the NY Strip and it was awesome, wife had buttermilk fried chicken - also awesome. Service was very attentive and friendly. Not a place I would go every week as it is fine dining and a little pricey, but not overly so. Looking forward to coming here again.
My Fiance and I chose Carpe Diem for Restaurant week to celebrate my birthday. I've always heard good things, and with all the new restaurants popping up in Charlotte we've been distracted and it's been hard to remember to try (just being honest). The service was AAA+ not too personal, not to impersonal. Our plates were always taken away before the next course, and our water cups always full! A delightful palate cleanser was served between the appetizer and main course which was a wonderful surprise/touch (especially for those of us who do not treat ourselves very often). The food was AMAZING. And probably the best steak my fiance has ever had in Charlotte. My salmon dish was a tad bit too salty for my taste (I think the Kale had been over salted) but the technique and quality was absolutely there! I could eat their roasted cauliflower soup every day of the week and then some. I've already raved to several people and will most certainly be returning!
