Lovely quaint new French cuisine. Light fare, leveraging fresh ingredients. They do not over salt their food, the menu is clever, but uses traditional concepts. Very French wine list, so the wines are lighter than American wines. Understated and unpretentious. Service absolutely exquisite. Nice people !

Steak frite loaded with flavor and one of the best I've ever had! I was also impressed by our waiter's attention to detail and extensive knowledge of the cocktail and food menu. We are definitely coming back again before going home. We loved the interior design and the black/white photography of French architectural landmarks.

We went to Maison after a high recommendation from a friend, Ordered Monkfish Chop Amandine, Spiced Duck Confit and Steak Frites. All the dishes were excellent. Monkfish was very meaty and soft and the duck just fell off from the bone. They had a few specials available for appetizers and desserts. We ordered yellowfin tuna tartare for our app and lemon tart for dessert. The tuna was extremely fresh, and I was definitely blown away by the simple, yet complex combination of flavors. (it was a bit acidic though because of lemon) As for the dessert, I'm not a fan of lemon tarts in general, but this was amazing. The sweet blueberry was spread on top of the tart and the flavor of the lemon was tangy but the buttery yet dense crust and fresh cream reined in the acidity of lemon. One of the best lemon tarts I've ever had. Huge compliments to the chef and the kitchen staff! The waitress and all the entire staff were also professional and provided amazing service. Fresh and excellent food and good ambiance of the restaurant. We will stop by again!

Cute, casual, but upscale spot for dinner. Definitely get a reservation as the restaurant was more than full when we arrived. Service was wonderful; our waiter was both attentive and considerate and food came out reasonably quickly. The onion farsi starter special was one of my favorite appetizers I've ever eaten: beautifully presented with a char around the stuffed onion and the melted cheese, sausage, and breading tasted fantastic together. The clams were fresh and lovely and also made for a great opener. For entrees, my husband got the monkfish and I ordered the rabbit en croute; both were vastly different and we enjoyed them both. The monkfish and haricot verts were light and the brown butter jus paired well with it; I was thrilled with the rabbit, which was more like a gorgeous, elevated homey pot pie with bits of truffle. We took a rideshare, but there was a tiny parking lot next to the restaurant. Must eat spot in Charleston.

Cute place for a date night. The wine menu was good, but the food was limited and not quite what we were hoping for. Like, the foie gras with cherries were OK but without a sear and cold, like a pate. The potatoes in the fish entree were a little underdone, and again served cold. The “entree salad” on special had the thinnest slivers of meat, and the dressing was super acidic. I would have wanted something more balanced and hearty. Steak tartare was good!

5 star night from start to finish!!! Each dish that came out hit every note in just the right way. We were all sharing bites of our entrees because everyone was gushing theirs was the best. Our server Kate, was everything you could ask for: professional and so friendly (not to mention funny). She stayed on top of everything we needed without us having to ask and she was an encyclopedia about the menu and dishes. Several employees came over throughout the meal to fill waters and check to see if we needed anything. Really, superb experience all around. I am eager to make it back downtown and join for dinner again!!

Make your reservation now!!! Probably the most on par with France, French cuisine I have had in America. Very accurate to French flavors and foods eaten in France. The food was INCREDIBLE! The ambiance is super cute and very French cafe. Cocktails were very good. We had the fois gras torchon(if you have had fois gras you must try this as it is the way better preparation), escargot, and clams. As well as the shrimp , steak (thought to be the best steak ever had), chicken, and monkfish entrees. For dessert; the sponge cake, chocolate mousse, and the Madeline’s. We had a very handsome male waiter that was very attentive and great at his job. Service was incredible.

The food and cocktails were incredible. The server had suggestions and a friendly attitude. Absolutely recommend the Chartreuse Swizzle, the spiced duck confit with lentils, and the fondue appetizer.
