This is a very good neighborhood restaurant far enough off the exuberance of King Street but close enough to constitute a pleasant walking distance from Charleston central. We had a delightful early dinner from a very French and very fowl entree selection. The flank steak was well prepared snd as tender as a flank steak can be and the pome frites were perfect ( probably duck grease enabled). Squash soup was excellent. Short on beer selections but a good wine list. Service was very good snd the ambiance was pleasant snd bless-fully not too noisy. You do need reservations unless you want to eat at the bar. Overall, we give it four clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale.

I went here for the first time on a date night and it was everything I wanted. Atmosphere was cozy. Staff was super friendly. Food was perfect. I had the rotisserie chicken and my boyfriend had the shrimp. We had the baguette and butter as an appetizer. Everything was delicious. My family is French & I’ve been there a couple times to visit relatives. The food tasted just like the home cooked meals I had over there. I will be back with my family so they can try it too.

We all enjoyed our evening at Goulette Rotisserie & Grill! They were able to accommodate our large group of 11...and were very gracious when we needed to move our reservation 45min. later. Great wine selection, perfect cocktails, delicious appetizers. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their entrees- Superbe! Our server was spectacular! The owner spent some time talking with our group which made the evening! Will definitely come back next time we're in Charleston! C'etait tres bon! Mes compliments au chef!

Had dinner here tonight. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food was amazing, we started with Martinis and both were very cold and perfectly dirty, then had soup of the day, and main course was the Red Snapper and Lamb chops. Both perfectly seasoned and arrived hot. Wine selection is edited with most bottles under $100. A great value. We had a 2018 Margaux, which was absolutely heaven. The owner stopped by and was very engaging and truly cared about our experience. We look forward to our next visit. What a gem!

One of the best meals we have had in Charleston in the six years we have lived here. The rotisserie chicken and the hanger steak are special. “Simple food” that is anything but.

Stopped by on a suggestion from a friend as I love steak frittes. Was very impressed not only with my meal but the friendly service as well. I've been back and each meal continues to be wonderful. A big fan!!!

Have eaten here several times with friends. Every meal has been fantastic. The service, ambiance and food is always spot on. Consistency counts and they have the formula.

I feel terrible that I wrote this review in January 2022 and fumbled posting it; better late than never.
My wife and I always have a great time at Goulette. We had another great meal the evening before New Year's Eve. We love the warm and comfortable ambiance and we sat at our favorite table. We were celebrating so we had an extravagant meal.
We shared a basket of pomme frites and a bowl of soup to get started.
My wife loves the green salad and she ordered the seafood special for the second time in a week. Once again, she was delighted! She loves the seafood variety on the plate and the meal as a whole.
At the suggestion of Emily, our guide for the evening, I also had a garden salad and I’m so glad I did. It had seven fresh vegetables arranged in a lovely palette with a light drizzle of a deliciously tangy dressing. For my entree I had the duck leg confit. I can’t help myself, the duck confit is a spectacularly satisfying entree with some crispy skin, tender and tasty meat, and some perfectly cooked broccolini. What a fabulous meal! The sweet/tangy flavors of the salad contrasted nicely with the savoriness of the entrees, and don’t forget the delicious chicken soup to start and the pomme frites to nosh before the meal and mop up the duck fat during the meal.
Then the treat of the evening...profiteroles. We’ve been eating with Perig 11 years, ever since La Fourchette. Even if we didn’t eat at La Fourchette of an evening, we would leave another restaurant to eat dessert at La Fourchette. We got into the bad habit of getting two orders of profiteroles one after the other, because they are so heavenly; slightly sweet, slightly bitter, perfect choux pastry, vanilla ice cream. (I prefer ice cream over pastry cream). And oh the chocolate pourover...
We are so glad that Perig has brought the profiteroles to Goulette because his profiteroles are truly something special. As good as I’ve had in Paris or Florence.
Because it is so delicious, we alway order a rotisserie chicken to go. We usually get the chicken brought to the table before packaging so that we can nibble a little while it is hot. Mmmmmmm!
Okay, it was a feast, but we were celebrating.....
We are going back tonight and I can’t wait to get that duck leg confit on my way to profiteroles, or maybe the lamb chops, or...well any entree...it depends on my mood at the time................
And, I must add a note about the service. We very much appreciate the professional-but-friendly and attentive service from Tamzen, Emily, and Louisa. They are always charming and fun. We have never been unhappy with the time we’ve waited for our meals because we begin snacking on chicken soup and pommes frites early; and we even take the remaining pomme frites home for breakfast the next day.
We appreciate the unhurried atmosphere, the low level of noise, and we take the opportunity to chat with each other and sometimes some friends that came with us. It is an entirely relaxing and satisfying dining experience. We look forward to many more................

Love love this place. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The meals were delicious. We were at a corner table near the front and enjoyed watching people stroll by during the Christmas season. I cannot wait to go back to Charleston and eat there.
